Best game of 2015? (PC)

Witcher 3

I liked GTA5 but to be perfectly honest it was very juvenile. Adult themes don't need jokes attached to them. Witcher treats you like an adult and it's themes and story are presented to you without unnecessary humor. Not that it takes itself too seriously, but it assumes you're able to handle the situation presented without attaching teenage humor.

The Witcher 3, so far, is a no-brainer.

In my opinion, as far as other games go... well, maybe some will end up "good", sure, but nothing this year (at least) will touch the masterpiece that is The Witcher 3. In my book, The Witcher 3 does not simply merit a "Game of the Year" award, but something more along the lines of a "Holy Mother of God it was about damn time we had something like this happening to video gaming" award. I can hardly wait to see what CDPR has in store for us with Cyberpunk 2077.

There are games I may like more coming this year but that would be my bias toward that series. Who knows, I may like metal gear solid more than Witcher but that would be because I am a huge metal gear fan and have been for years. The Witcher 3 is a great game on its own though and so far it definitely tops 2015.

I am hoping Metal Gear will be good on the PC (console/PC games have been slightly better this generation now that the console use x86 hardware). I may pickup The Witcher once it has a price drop (or a game of the year release).

Crossing my fingers on a Star Citizen Squadron 42 chapter release as well before the end of the year, but I am not holding my breath and am a realist who thinks it will most likely be March next year (given the re-work of their character models that is currently going on to use the new skeleton to fix issues so that animations are the same in first or third person view).

If you enjoy fighting monsters, pick TW3, if you enjoy driving cars and hitting pedestrians in the teeth, pick GTAV. Or just play both. GTAV gets less press these days, because the PS3/Xbox versions were released years ago. Hype requires freshness. But if you haven't play GTAV on a console, it's definitely fresh to play it on a PC now.

2015 isn't over yet. We might get a few more good games. I suspect Fallout4 is gonna be good. Personally I have my eyes set on Tangiers (to be released in November).

Dying Light was released January this year. I was pleasantly surprised. Simple concept, good execution. The story was average. The graphics were good. The movement, parkours, was just awesome.

Huh, if you haven't played GTA 5 on a console, then at what point would it never be not fresh to play on PC? I'm trying to understand that hype/freshness thing you are talking about, it makes zero sense though.

Cause the game is old news. Everyone knows all about it, the characters, how it broke records etc. for the most part anyway.

Witcher 3 and GTA 5 are both great games, i'll go for GTA 5 here since I love GTA games and not much into fantasy RPGs though I really enjoyed playing Witcher 3. I'll wait for fallout 4 if its releasing this year to concluding this question.

So if I didn't really care for Witcher 2, should I bother with trying Witcher 3? I just upgraded my rig and it would be a shame to not take advantage of a big title like that. I think magic is stupid, so I'm afraid I won't like it. I can't be bothered with learning and remembering 5 million magic combinations and all that stuff.

I had fun with the new Wolfenstein, but, I pretty much havent touched any other shooters since I gave up on the genre some years ago...

There just aren't enough games with rocket jumping....

Witcher 3

Moonbogg, you will need to use potions on high difficulty. It is easier to keep potions going in W3 (you dont need to pick millions of herbs, there is a cap on how many you have at one time and it is renewed when you meditate) and you can focus on sword fighting without much magic if you want to.

Fallout 4 without a doubt. Witcher 3 is okay, Witcher 2 was better.

I vote Witcher 3, although I dont think it is the masterpiece that some do. It is just a very well done game with a decent story. As far as the "adult" content, I dont really see anything new there. The themes are the same, it just goes a bit further and shows nudity, but I dont see any earthshaking new concepts.

If you're referring to my post I was just saying that the Witcher 3 treats the player like an adult. It just presents the situation as if it's normal every day life and doesn't try to draw attention to the situation with jokes. I was talking about the presentation of the story being told and the situations of the characters as compared to GTA5 which inserts humor and juvenile rage into things that don't need it.
