some people swear by ultralight mice and hard mats, but i am simply unable to make any accurate movement with that setup. i have heard of people that use glass as a mousemat with a g300s (82g).

Did you get the G403 yet?

I decided to try the G703 instead. It's basically the same as the G403 wireless. First off I'll say that I like all the switches. The sides are some of the best I've ever felt. The texture is great and the mouse doesn't slip at all. Everything about it is good but I'll probably be sending it back. The way my ring and pinkie finger rest are going to be an issue. Sometimes if a mouse is too narrow my pinkie will get cramped in the palm grip which is my default grip. I didn't have that issue with the 600. So, aside from the hump peak the 600 was more comfortable.

ahhh that sucks. A mouse is a very personal thing with our unique grips and hand/finger sizes.

I had the opposite experience - I switched to my G403 after a week with the 600 and it just felt slightly better. You are right, the thumb buttons are just better feeling than the competition. The biggest thing for me was the thumb buttons were further back on the mouse, which made it easier to hit both without moving my thumb much and changing my grip. I do like the soft touch feel of the 600 better and the LED's are cooler. IF the G403 and Rival 600 had a baby it would be my perfect mouse

I just moved from a Mx518 (which had got distinctly manky) to a SteelSeries 700 (only because it was really cheap) and I definitely prefer the SteelSeries for comfort (its a bit heavier though) even though I've been using the Mx518 for years.

You do have to turn off the ludicrous lights and OLED screen (seriously?) on the SteelSeries though!

Yeah the G403 seems to be the thumb button king. Perfect click and location. I'm trying a whole new type of mouse now. I got a Cooler Master MM520 and although I like it, it's way too small for my hand. My ring finger just drags against the pad. So it will probably be going back. My next attempt might be the Naga Hex or Naga Trinity. I want a ring finger rest and the Naga has it. The trinity is stupid expensive at $100 but it has the normal 2 thumb buttons option. The Hex is only $45 but it might get annoying with it's ring of thumb buttons. The other thing I'm considering is the Mionix Naos 7000. I actually owned this mouse a few years ago but I eventual gave up on it because the grip was too slippery. Now I see a few people have modified it with grip tape and that might make a huge difference.

in addition to the G502, G403, Glaive, M65Pro, Rival 600 I also tried the Zowie EC2-A and the Rival 310.

The Rival 600 beats all.

I would like to try the Finalmouse ultralight though. When it comes back in stock.

Finalmouse has had some serious issues, i know they have made some changes to fix them but i would not recommend it today, unless proven that ALL those have been resolved.
Youtube can give you more info (i'm at work now so limited resources)

The Mionix Naos is a keeper. The material seems to have more grip than I remember but I still added a small piece of grip tape to the pinkie rest. It's only 103 grams which is pretty light considering it's size.

I'm a huge fan of the Roccat Kone Pure line, specifically the Military variants. Extremely comfortable for me, great build quality, best mouse wheel I've ever used.

Got the FinalMouse Ultralight Pro mouse yesterday. For a large mouse it's the lightest out there, at 67 freakin grams. I started gaming with it and had to turn my sens slightly down. After a couple hours of adjustment, I bumped it back up and wow this thing is killing it. Just lifting it up is dreamy. Definitely helps with quick pick ups and flicks. I won't say it will make you a better player, but it definitely feels better and will help for longer gaming sessions.

I've switched back and forth from mice close to 130 grams to those in the mid to low 90 gram range and the difference was there but the 30 gram drop from a 96 gram mouse (Rival 600) to the 67 grams of the FM is just way more dramatic.

It's a bit overpriced and hard to get but worth a shot if you enjoy a lighter mouse. Nothing quite like it out there for a large mouse.

Ah crap, looks like I lied. Turns out I own a Logi G602 which is a wireless "gaming" mouse.

I'll show myself out...

[/IMG] I make so secret about my fondness for Logitech products. They stand behind their warranty. The G602 is an excellent mouse. I have one myself on my ryzen build. I use the G502 now but have a G402 as a backup new in the box. I still use my Logitech G15 keyboard which has never failed me in 10 years.

Logitech def stands behind their products. They've sent me new mice to replace broken mice, without asking for the broken mouse back and in every case so far the mice have been well out of warranty.

I love logitech too, but there are too many good products out there to not check them out, especially with mice to fit your hand right.

After mostly having logi products for the last 10+ years I now have a Steelseries mouse and a FinalMouse, a Corsair keyboard, a steelseries mousepad, and sennheiser headphones.

I sprung for a Logitech G5 years ago, and though wired, it still performs excellently in FPS games. You can add weight to it and it's textured in a way that keeps sweat from compromising your grip. Dunno if they still make it, but I'm sure they have something similar that won't break your bank.

Why are there so many people talking about wired mice like they are a hindrance to playing games? I've seen a lot of people mention about using wired mice and saying something along the lines of: "though once I get my wireless one, I'll really step up my game". Are people keeping their PC's across the room and are at their wire's limit? Are they turning their DPI as low as possible and swinging their arms in giant arcs across their desks? I'm a little confused here.

Avago3050 high-end optical gaming engine

Call me a "dirty stinking casual" if you want. I'm not a "hardcore" gamer so much anymore, although I used to win LAN parties in UT99 locally. Well, "back in the day", when I was a Gamer with a capital G. Now I am kinda of a "casual".

But with that out of the way, I'm using one of the above mice. Seems decent, although it's not as wide as the iMicro Cobra mouse, which is probably pretty crappy as far as the sensor goes, but it was wider. I kind of tense up a little bit with the Rosewill, just navigating Windows 10.

I use "gaming mice" these days, for high DPI, so that it doesn't take forever to move my mouse across my 4K UHD screen, and I can still have precision.

Gaming Mouse - PixArt PMW 3360 Optical Sensor - Omron Mechanical Switches - PTFE Mouse feet
Could well be.
Technology has made it easier to produce a good mouse, thats why nowadays we look more at grip, size, shape ... drivers ...

Ever heard of the company A4 ?

A4 was an amazon-only mouse brand. Their mice turned out to be excellent for the money and sold a ton.

aaaand then the prices went up. Now they cost as much as any other brand.

Better than the 903?? No. Thats one of the absolutely best mice available.
As for the damage, contact Logitech, they might just replace it.
