a good gaming mouse for budget would be the mx518, spend a hair more for the new g5, which a handful would probably say so as well.

I've got a 510 and I absolutely love it. It's perfect for gaming, it's comfortable as hell, and it just feels solid. I hear the mx518 is even better though. Check out Logitech's site since I'm not sure if that's the newest model. Other people would recommend the Razer line of mice and while those are excellent as well, I think the Logitech mice are just a little more comfortable overall...

As far as the keyboard, go with the Saitek Eclipse if you can. The keyboard has a blue light behind the keys and the letters on the keys light up as well. It's pretty badass and the keyboard is not only quiet, but responsive and solid feeling as well.

In order of price: MX510 --> MX518 --> G5 (or G7 if you're into the wireless thing)

As far as keyboards are concerned... I think comfort is more important than anything else. The G15 has a lot of potential, although as of right now that LCD screen isn't very useful.

And if you don't know what I'm talking about: The Logitech G15; a review can be found here at ExtremeTech.com.

Once the LCD screen the G15 becomes more useful it'll definitely be a great key board, that said I'm a bit of a saitek fanboy and so I agree with the recommendation of the saitek eclipse. As for mouse some people are reporting problems with the G5 and complaining about inconvenient button placement so I'd look at the MX518 (for DPI adjustment) or the Razer Copperhead.
