Best Gaming Mouse? (Logitech Preferred)

The two games I play:

BF2: Project Reality. (Tactical Squad Based Reality Modification for BF2- I hate BF2 by itself).
ArmA: Armed Assault -- Tactical Military Simulation On-Line Based Gameplay ranging from all modes of play (CTF-DM-Coop-Dual Coop-Assasination-Escort-Survival-Racing-Evading-TDM-FlagFight, etc)

Each of these games require movement commands that are made so you can take advantage of the middle mouse button. Now I've been through hell trying to find the best gaming mouse for this.

=================================
Over the past 4 weeks I have gone through:
*MX510 (Old Mouse, Stopped Working). Worked nice for middle button, weird rubber grip)

*A G7 Wireless Logitech Mouse (Stopped Working. Had nice grip. Hard-To-Push Middle Mouse Button)

*Another G7 Wireless Logitech Mouse (Worked 3 minutes, stopped for 5 seconds, repeatedly. Had nice grip. Hard-To-Push Middle Mouse Button)

*Bought a Razor -> Could not get used to the new configuration, returned it a week later.

*Finally have this G5 Laser Mouse. Hard-To-Push Middle Mouse Button As Well.
=================================

Now I need a new mouse that has an easy to push center mouse button + has a firm gripping material. Is there anything like this out there?? I'm beginning to think that there is no true gamer's mouse out there for me.

Suggestions Appreciated. Thanks

If I were you, the first thing I would do is go to a local store, and check out the feel of the mice. From there, post on here (or in the peripherals section) which ones you like, and see if anyone has any input as far as repeated problems, etc. But since you are going for a mouse that is easy for you to get the middle button on, that's gonna be real hard for other people to asnwer.

EDIT: I'm not sure if it's my mouse or it's normal, but I hate having to use the middle button on my G5 mouse. It's horrible having to do so. I remember accessing the middle button on my last Microsoft mouse great though.

Well the G5/G7 are the top logitech mice for sure. If you didnt like those or a Razer I have to say your search might not be the easiest one. The G5/G7's problem is the clickwheel can go left, right, down and spin. The left and right are largely worthless but make clicking down kinda tricky.

I have to say though, if you dont like the G5/G7 the MX/VX Revolution are not worth looking into for you, as thier middle button is even more complex.

P.S. If your G7 was skipping alot, move your transmitter further from the mouse. When the G7 is too close to its dongle it tends to skip alot, but being about 3 feet+ away helps.

I had the 510 gaming mouse, and it was just right for gaming, if it was only laser. I had a lot of trouble with tracking on a laminate surface, and had to tape down a piece of paper or use a thin mouse surface partially under my keyboard to keep it from moving to get any accuracy. I now have a mx600 series wireless laser mouse, and still have trouble with tracking. I've got a new desk that I will be assembling this week, and hopefully that will fix the tracking problem. The middle wheel isn't too hard to use imo, but it does have the side scrolling action. I just wish it had the buttons the gaming mouse had, although it does have quite a few. I can't use anything but the left, right and middle buttons in most games on Vista, plus the scroll wheel. Maybe Logitech will improve their driver soon.

And I'm with you on Logitech, their mice have the best feel of any mouse I've tried.

The best gaming mouse by Logitech is probably the new G5 (Not out in the states yet, only available for pre-order)

My favorite mouse of all time was the Logitech WingMan Gaming Mouse. Its an older mouse with just three buttons. I was never as good in FPS as I was with this mouse. I let a coworker borrow it for a bug he was working on and he "lost" it. Aaarrrggghhhh. Currently, I use the Logitech G5 which is my favorite of the currently available ones. I do have the G7 as well but don't really like it becuase the two side buttons are too small and the mouse is not heavy enough.

Give the Habu a shot... I love it for BF2 and ArmA because of the on the fly sensitivity change (eg. you can run around at high sensitivity and then go prone and snipe with low sensitivity just by pushing buttons on the mouse)

The middle mouse button is easy to push and is very grippy. I like the Habu a lot and think it's at least worth a shot.

edit: the Habu rocks for OpFlash too, if you still play it

Honestly the MS 3.0 is my favourite FPS mouse and I've tried a lot, it depends on the size your hand. It doesn't have all the features of the newer ones but it works so well.

I love my Razer Diamondback. Easy to use middle mouse button as far as I can tell from whatever definition that may have in your eyes. My friend has a G5 and I love it, too. My middle mouse button is a little easier to press and scroll with, however.

I returned a G5 for the same reason. Picked up an MX518 and I'm quite happy with it.

I've had (in this order):
Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0
MX518
MX1000
Razer Diamondback Plasma (briefly)
G5 (very briefly)
G7

Needless to say, I stuck with the G7 in the end. It's a great mouse. As others have said, try moving the receiver further away from the mouse (I have mine about 1-2 feet away), and make sure the battery is completely charged before you use it (the green light will stop blinking). Finally, make sure you're using it on a good surface - something not too shiny, but without rough edges.

MX 518 is still my fav. Both the G5 and the Razer have higher DPI, but G5 lacks the extra side button (Logitech was dumb to remove it) and razer is not has comfortable for me.

I'm with them. The MX518 is my mainstay while strangely, my G5 sits unused in a box. It's not that I don't like the G5 -- not at all; it's a great mouse. And I was able to get used to the lack of the second side button on the G5...the tilt scroll wheel mostly made up for that. But the MX518 somehow seems "smoother." Both the MX518 and G5 are extremely responsive...I guess the overall liquid feel of the MX518 as well as the slightly-easier-to-press scroll wheel made it #1 for me. At least for now (I haven't tried the MX Revolution yet).

Wel, to answer your question, theonly mouse out there right now that I know of that has a true middle button is the Creative Fatal1ty 1010. However the quality is poor and they break easily - I know I had one.
