Hi

I have been using a Logitech Cordless Mouseman (Elite) for some time now and I have realised that when playing first person shooter games, the mouse does not register motion and clicking at the same time. So everytime I click repeatedly to fire, the pointer would not move and until I stopped clicking, did the mouse regain its natural movement. So far all the earlier logitech and microsoft mice have this problem. I have tested the original cordless optical mouse, and Microsoft's Intellimouse Wireless Explorer.

I am interested in the Logitech MX700 and I was wondering if the MX sensor cures this problem. If this is a wireless mouse problem, then please suggest me other good optical gaming mice.

Thanks

Logitech MX 700 if you want cordless. If you want to save $30 get the MX 500, same mouse but with a cord.

So it doesn't have that click/move interference?

It has no click/move interference.
I think that most of the people here will say that the MX700 works better than most corded mice

My Microsoft Intellimouse Optical (new version) doesn't skip at all. The only problem is that I need a mouse cord holder...

How does bluetooth compare to radio? Also do you need another card? What's the ET?

Thank,

I dont like cordless mice for gaming. Even the MX700 and the wireless Intellimouse have lag. This isnt a problem for regular useage but for gaming fast response is a must. Go with the MX500, MX310 or IM explorer.

Another vote for the MX700...I love mine...no skips at all. I just finished playing Call of Duty without a hitch!

I loved that mouse when I had it. I upgraded to a MX500 last year and I have finally gotten use to the larger size and different button feel. Don't get me wrong, the MX500 is a great mouse, but I just prefered the smaller size of the dual mouseman.

I may go alookin' for one now!

Me too. I bought a MX500 last week but it just didn't fit my gaming style so I'm using it at work. I like how the thumb button on the dual optical is always under your thumb, you don't have to move up to reach it like you do with the MX500.

Razer Boomslang's ROCK for gaming!! I ahve the 2000DPI version, and I'll never again use a normal mouse. IT has 5 buttons and a scroll wheel..

And I just checked the site.. When did Razer get back in business? IIRC, they went under a few years ago, didn't they??

<--------------- confused..

I use the MS Intellimouse Explorer (v1 I think). 5 Buttons of creamy destructive optical goodness.

MX300 is the best mouse available if you play primarily strategy games. If you're into FPS's, the MX500 is probably a better choice.

I've used the MX700 and was NOT impressed. The latency was slight, but noticable to the point that I wouldn't recommend it for serious gaming.

I got a couple of MX500's from a friend at Logitech, so while I hate wheel mice I did of course try them.
I still hate the wheel, but aside from that, I find them very nice for general usage, but for FPS's I still find ball mice superior, the MX500 is somewhat "slow", it doesn't have any problems with clicking and moving at once though.

In the end, I now have both the MX500 and a ball mouse hooked up all the time so I can just use one or the other depending on the task at hand.

I've recently gotten around to trying both a MX500 and 700, so I guess I'll throw in my two cents worth. I didn't find the 700 to have any of the wireless lag some are speaking of in comparision to the 500. Sadly, neither are as precise or fast as a Boomslang (either the 1000 or 2000). I found them both to feel a bit cramped also but not so much I'd call it a big issue. The best thing I can say about them is they are the first opticals I would actually consider using for serious gaming. They are most definitely not on the level the Razer mouse is, but then again it has problems of it's own (dunno about the newest versions) that some people aren't willing to put up with.
