Basic build quality issues on some of them...Right mouse button double clicking sometimes when you only single click. Some have rollers that aren't 100% spot on causing the mouse ball to get in a bind on slow movements, this can be fixed for the most part by cutting a very very tiny bit off the length of the cross-roller spring. They are also very sensitive to dirt accumulation on the rollers, need frequent cleaning. Best way to put it is it's similar to an exotic car I suppose. They are exceptional when working correctly, but some people may not want em as daily drivers.

I have had my Boomslang 2000 for about 3 or 4 years now, and I aven't had to clean it AT ALL. I use one of those 3M precise mousing surfaces, and it's great. No button problems, nothing. And the little plastic piece that twists in to hold in the ball has a unique design with a scraper built into it.. I remember seeing a video a while back somewhere of someone who took a Boomslang 2000 and ran it over a pile of Doritos.. And kept gaming with it ON the pile of Doritos, until they were reduced to little more than dust.. And the mouse functioned flawlessly the entire time. I love my Boomslang, I'll never agan get another mouse...

The only thing that bugged me about it when I first got it was the location of the ball.. On a normal mouse, they're up towards the front of it (where the cord is).. On a Boomslang, the ball is right under your palm, towards the back. Plus it's abotu twice the size of any other mouse I've ever seen.. But I LOVE the software that comes with it to allow you to program the buttons any way you want.. I programmed one of the buttons to be <backspace> so that I can browse web pages without having to use the browser's back button..

I'm using MS Intellimouse Explorer 3.0a and I find it pretty good to use for fast pace FPS gaming.

I'm liking my logitech MX310. No flakiness/battery issues like cordless mice, no ridiculous $50+ price tag, still has a good number of buttons (2 normal ones, wheel, and 3 extra), feels sharp and precise, and has a nice heft to it (I hated how my older cheapo logitech mouse felt really flimsy and light).

Razer Boomslang's are now Mystify Razer Boomslangs, doesnt seem to be a big issue though, not heard any moans about drops in quality or whatever, and still designed by the razor people. boomslang 2100 is the one out, "boomer speed" and "boomer control" are coming (presumably same idea as the 1000 and 2000, with the 2100 being in the middle?). site is www.razerzone.com . Seem a bit cheaper now too, about £45 instead of ~£60 at etailers in UK. Theyve been available in Euro for ages now, should have been into NA for awhile too.

Using a Intellipoint atm, but very interested in the boomslang next time. Only thing I'm annoyed about with the intellipoint is I think it really could do with "skatez" now, movement feels coarse on either side of my "fUnc", or ratpad. I jut REFUSE to pay like £10 for a couple of inches of teflon sellotape though, and can only find huge rolls of teflon tape (something like £50 for 50m or something).

the mouse does not register motion and clicking at the same time
I'd assume youre mouse, connector, driver setting or whatever is broken if its doing that! Such a problem would make for a shockingly appalling mouse, and I cant believe I wouldnt have heard of it by now.

Hehe guys, I bought the MX700 and a Everglide Giganta Optical Mousing Surface and some mouse tape.

the Boomslang looked real interesting, but I'm not daring enough to try another ball mouse, or a corded one....

After all... if money was no issue... the MX700 is one of the best mice you can buy!

I've had the original Microsoft Intellieye Explorer for over three years and it's the best mouse I've ever used. I never had a single problem with it and it works exceptionally well in FPSes.

MX700 is a heavy mother though...I can't use it for gaming...I use my old and trusty Logitech corded mouse...

Well my mouse arrived a week ago. First game i played was Counterstrike and well... lets jus say i was totally nubbed. I wasn't used to its sensitivity and i was making kills i didn't even feel and then other times I was over aiming.

I also ordered a mousepad (everglide giganta optical) and it just came today. I played about 20 minutes of Counterstrike as a quick test and let's just say im amazed. All my shots were dead accurate and I felt like I was back in the cs 1.5 days! The mousepad makes a huge difference and im greatly satisfied . Thanks all for helping me on my purchase, I am extremely grateful. I almost got banned from a server, but I was spectated and they helped me prove i wasn't hacking...

i've used both the mx700 and the dual optical (corded) and i prefer the dual optical because it skips less. I prefer the weight of the mx700 more though. Never used a boomslang, but my friends that have them swear by them, but I hear that they wear out pretty quickly too?

Logitech Dual Optical user here as well; using a fUnc pad with it. I loooove the smoothness this combo gives. Been tempted lately by their wireless keyboard/mouse combos... but I should just get a remote control
