I'm looking for a new mouse and will use it mostly for online gaming. I've head the Microsoft Intellieye Explorer and Logitech MouseMan Wheel are pretty good but i might get the Cordless mouseman unless is not good in online gaming. I cant offered anything over $50 and would rather stay in the 20-40 range, so what do u guys recommend me to get and where to buy it from. Thanks

I wouldn't get the cordless one for gaming. Its too slow (i guess becasue its not phsically connected) and your cursor will jump all over the place, espcialy in FPS. I'd go with the Intellimouse but I've heard logitech's is good also.

Logitech MouseMan Wheel USB or MS IntelliMouse Optical(not Explorer), or go with Explorer if you can find a good deal.

Boomslang 1000

$70, $20 over ur budget

If you can't go over budget then get the MS IntelliMouse Explorer

But Boomslang 1000 is a great mouse .

Optical is symetrical and it's slightly smaller than Explorer, the color is different as well.

I hear the boomslang is a bitch getting used to.......MANY people say it hurts their hands......

I'd recommend the Logitech Wingman Gaming Mouse, it's really big and nice to hold, and very precise for aiming

I use the logitech cordless for gaming and I love it. Go for the deluxe model with ergonomic design and thumb buttons...

For gaming, I don't think you should purchase the Microsoft mice with LED trackers, because if you need to turn around really fast in a FPS, the LED reportedly does not respond and "drops" tidbits of information, being moved accross the table, and so the crosshair jumps all over the place.

I think a Boomslang 1000 would be good (I haven't heard of it hurting people hands, but if it is, it is probably because of bad ergonomics), or a Logitech Wingman Gaming mouse.

The intellimice opticals work great in games. I have it set 2 nothces above middle in speed, acceleration to low, and using an everglide giganta.

I can do quick turns, everything. My mouse/cursor never jumps.

Yes the Logitech Cordless Mouseman Wheel is the 'deluxe' model if you wanna cal it that. Pay no mind to what Speg said, he obviously hasn't used one (or at least not a properly setup cordless mouseman wheel). It isn't slow or jumpy in the least and I play a lot of FPS's. Though I will admit it lacks the exacting smoothness of the intellieye mice, but no more so than any other ball mouse does.

Which is the newest one Explorer or Optical? So far i think i'm going with either the MS Explorer, Logitech MouseMan Wheel USB, or the cordless mouseman. But all of you have mixed opnions and now i'm more confused

Never go for a cordless mouse if it is for gaming. The cordless mouse is only 40hz where as an ordinary USB mouse is 100+hz.
For gaming I would definetly go for a logitech mouse, personally I am using the Wingman Gaming mouse and am very pleased with it. If you want a wheel on your mouse go for the MouseMan® Wheel from Logitech, one of the best Quake3 railers in Denmark is using that mice.

warning about optical mouse. Some ppl play fine with it but most arent.
It has two problems. One is loss of tracking during fast flicks.
Another is continuing tracking when you lift mouse slightly to move it off the edge of mousepad.

Among best Q3A players some use Boomslang. However nearly all of them are paid by Razer.

Those who are not paid mostly use Logitech Gaming Mouse(no wheel, 3 buttons) or Mouseman Wheel.

#2 Q3A player Makaveli has Microsoft Intellimouse USB (non-optical).
Its $13 online so when you wear it out just get another one. Try it.

I have the Logitech Wingman Gaming mouse, i think its arround 50$ but it may be more im not too sure, it was 60$ canadian where i got it so i amagin it will be arround that much, some say it is just a copy in the design of the Mouseman 96 which it kinda is but the designs are slightly different, it may not be any different then any normal mouse but i find it great for gaming. i bought it mainly for the shape, it has a rather large design and i have big hands so it is perfect for me.

Some others have disagreed, but I like my intellimouse w/ intellieye. It is mucher cheaper than the Explorer & even the Optical, & I prefer the smaller, more-managable size. I have no problems w/ accuracy or "jumping," and best of all, there is no ball/rollers to clean. I don't really have any need for the side buttons on the larger MS mice. These are going for under $20 these days when they are in stock...tough to beat that price. I have three of them.

I use a PS/2 Intelli-wheelmouse w/ps-2 rate. The best combo imo.

Just keep her clean.

I dont like the Explorer, too clunky. Try the little intellieye one, if you have your sensitivity WAY up, it will be an excellent mouse. I have noticed that my wheel mouse is a little heavy, and the intellieye would be pretty perfect.

LeStEr,

I have the LWG and the M96. Wheels, we don't need no stinkin' wheels!I like the shape too. I only got the LWG for the color to match my latest machine. They do have the same exterior but of course the LWG is USB or P/S with adapter. The biggest difference, and the reason I still use the M96 mostly is the button click on the LWG is loud. I imagine that parts can change depending upon the supplier but I think they chose to make it like that for the "Gaming" branding as well as adding that silly orange circle on the thumb indent. The neat thing is I can run them both at the same time with different settings using MouseWare. P/S rate can be set in MouseWare too. They recently made full versions available for download which they never did before so I suppose people could try it with other brands of mieces.

cybertiger i was thinking the same thing, the only diffrence i know off is that when using ps2 you gotta reboot and you dont have to for usb but i was wondering if usb gives your better faster mouse performence.

Now i might go with the Logitech Wingman Gaming mouse or with the Logitech MouseMan Wheel USB. I think i might need a wheel because i surf the web alot so itll be easier to scroll with the wheel. I think the wheel in that mouse is also a button right? Also in some games you can use the wheel to zoom in or zoom out like in 3D RTS DarkReign2 which i'm gonna be playing plenty off. But I'm also gonna play Tribes and UT with this mouse.
