MS intellimouse or razor boomslang for me. I hate gaming with ms' optical mice, I always miss snap shots like when i snap my railgun across the screen....

Logitech optical wheel mouse. Only 30 bucks too. I've tried the both 5 button MS opticals, and I was unimpressed when taking into consideration how much they cost.

Bought a M$ Intellimouse Explorer (Optical) out of pure skepticism. What can I say?? Now I?m a believer! I?ve never been so impressed with a particular mouse before in my life. Nothing else can even begin to compare with it's accuracy. In my opinion, and there are those who will argue this, whatever you go with, go with optical. You?ll be much happier.

IMHO

Logitech Mouseman Wheel, I have two of those, best I´v ever used. I tried the explorer for a month and didnt like it, just feels wrong. All the game sites recomend the mouseman wheel.

I use to use the Logitech Mouseman for gaming... then I got a Razer Boomslang 2000. Yes it costs $100. Yes it's worth every penny.

I got a Razer Boomslang about a month ago, and it is incredibly accurate, I'm still playing with the sensitivity though. I'm running it at around 6.0 or so, any more sensitive is a bit too much for me. For all you with Boomslang's, what sensitivity do you use?

I've left mine at the default setting in the razer software (4 I believe)... use about 6-8 sens. in games like Q2, Q3A, and Half-life.

I like the MS Intelimouse Optical. I tried out a buddy's Razer Boomslang and it was WAY to big for my small hands.

Logitech Optical Wheelmouse. Never messes up and I play with high sensitivity. Feels comformtable and doesn't hurt my hand after hours of use. I recommend it highly, also only cost around 25$

I think it also depends on the type of games you play. If you do a lot of wrist flicks in UT, Q3A, etc. in order to turn around, you do not want an optical mouse. Optical mice just dont work for that type of movement. Otherwise they are excellent, I would have bought one, the Razer Boomslang was a better choice for me.

Another vote for Intellimouse Explorer. I heard the Logitech optical is even better though, and cheaper. I suck at FPS, so probably my opinion doesn't count.

Go to best buy and and see which one fits you the best. Both Logitech and M$ offer their most popular mice in optical and mechanical styles.

I personally use the $30 MS Intellieye. I've found that my sniping in UT has improved with it. I get annoyed going back to mechanical mice now.

man, i gots a logitech cordless mouseman (ergoish) and everyone complains about bad gaming (q3,cs,ut) experiences, and i think they just suck. it works fine. they all do. i doubt 5ms in time will change outcome. if you shot him, hell be dead. if you thought you did, and missed, then chances are, you missed. hehe. although it does suck when you are about to nail the flag carrier and batteries die...arg!

what B&M's carry the Boomslangs? I wanted to try one out for size before I spend $100 on one =P I agree with Soybomb- flick shots such as rj's just don't work that well with my Intellieye. I even went back to gaming with my old Intellipoint, but that broke so now I'm stuck with an Intellipoint with Intellieye, and an Intellimouse Optical. Also, I feel that the Intellipoint with Intellieye is way to light for gaming, and the Intellimouse Optical and Explorer to be way to bulky. Just my two cents.

I didn't think that any B&M's carried the Boomslang....maybe I'm wrong.

I've got a Boomslang 1000. It is THE best mouse I've ever used. My sensitivity is cranked all the way up in both the Razer software and in Windows (yes they both affect the performance).
