Best Heatsink to use for a 1700+?

I'm currently using an antec jet cool, and my cpu seems to get rather hot, sometimes going up into the 53 Celcius range,

What heatsink would you guys reccommend? My mobo is an Epox 8kha

What is your case temp? 53 is not that bad if that is as high as it goes with 100% cpu use. Make sure you have good case circulation before wasting money on a new HSF.

I'm using the AMD retail HSF, and my CPU temp ranges from 42 - 51. Case temp always hovers between 28 and 30. I'm also running the 1700+.

Alpha 8045 all the way I have one on my 1700+ which is overclocked to a 1800+ and my temps right now after being on for over 6 hours is 34C. I also have a Epox board and I am using a 48 cfm YS Tech fan.

I left one side of my case open and get 45°C while its 55 with closed case. Maybe this is a trick worth trying before spending xtra $ on a new HSF

Under no load, i'm at 48 celcius cpu temp, 24 celcius case temp with my case open and right next to the window

I wasn't under full load when i was gettin 53, just runnin a few programs, like winamp and such.

Worth gettin a new one?
