I don't know of a quiet LED fan... the only way to quiet them is with voltage control of some kind.

The Spire/Fanner/Speeze Whisper Rock II (5F263B1M3G) beats 'em all for value (price/perf). And it's quiet besides.

I have heard good things about the Vantec Aeroflow with the TMD magnetic fan. It's only $32 at newegg as well.

Gets my vote !

Hello Guys,

Take a serious look @ the Coolermaster Aero 7+. Can be found for ~35-37 dollars + ship from most online stores. In my own bench testing, It was very similar to the Thermalright SLK-900 + a 52cfm fan. However this was when the Aero7+ (under full setting) is pushing out ~27cfm. It is very quiet, and very reliable =).

Nice review here: http://www.systemcooling.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=667

Good Luck with your search.

I just got a slk-900(u) for 45 and my god i love it! I'm at 38-45 constant using a panaflow 80mm ( i'm having troubles figuring out how to load the 92mm) its soo quiet. Its well worth it!

[edit] I was just browsing svc.com and slk-800 is under 40 there right now, both versions of it. Go for it!

Same here, only I'm using a stealth fan and I'm getting around 35C.

1700+ @ 2200+ too.

Yep, can be had for under $20 and works top notch with low noise fans due to the large fins and layout.

Yanno I was going to get the all copper by instead got the hybrid AICu. All the reviews I read reported lower temperatures on the hybrid. That with lighter weight and slightly lower cost made the descision easy. I don't understand why the hybrid cools better though. It makes no sense. Copper is a much better heat conducter then alum. The Hybrid is copper center fins and contact point and alum outer fins.

I'm no metallurgist.. but for all I know.. copper conducts heat better from metal to metal, but aluminium dissipates heat (to the air) better than copper..

therefore.. if you have aluminium fins surrounding a copper core, you'll get better heat conduction from the CPU core to the heatsink copper core, and the aluminium fins would dissipate the heat to the surrounding air..at least in theory

But we all know that the best heatsinks in the market now are copper (SLK800/900 anyone?)..so the material is not the only thing affecting cooling efficiency..the design plays a darn important role too..

of course that's IMHO.

edit: gah typos i hate u

i'll be trying this glacialtech product out next week ($17 shipped from newegg) )Newegg - Igloo

BTW, I'm currently using the vantec aeroflow and am not impressed with its noise level (not loud but can definately be heard). cooling is about average or so, nothing super special, ...it looks cool though

Could you post some links to these reviews? I read multiple reviews that put the all copper on top. Either way, they are both great coolers, but I'd like to read that. Thanks!

I'm running a P4 2.4 . Was at 40C dropped down to 30C on a P4B533E mobo.

I had the stock intel heatsink , then replaced it w/ the cnps7000-AlCu version.

There is no diff in noise for my system. I'm running 2 - panaflow's 120mm fans.

Regards,
Jose

I agree.. all the reviews i've read on it show it performs on the same level and sometimes even better than the top notch coolers on the market, ie. SLK-900. I've been seriously considering this HSF, not only because its so unique and looks cool, but it actually performs great, with a low noise level. Its on sale @ svc.com for $32 right now... not sure how much they charge for shipping.

yanno I can't find those reviews now. I know they were some OC web sites I had ben to before but I can't recall atm. Now the only comparative review I find says Cu is better then ALCu.... which angers me
luckily the difference is very small, a few degrees at max load so I'm not too concerned. Should still be much better then my stock cooler though. I'm figuring my 7 case fans in my Xaser 3 will make a much bigger impact then choosing ALCu over the Cu. If the ALCu doesn't perform up to par then I'll have to consider something more extreme like water or a condenser.
