Best HS and Fan Combo??/

What is the best HS and Fan combo for a AMD Processor. I would like the best clip on and the best one that screws through the motherboard. I want a decent HS and Fan that has a great performance to price/noise ratio. I don't want it to sound like I'm vacuuming in my room all the time. Also I plan on overclocking. Thanks....

Thermaltake SilentBoost is a good value HSF. That's a clip one.

I just replaced my SilentBoost with a Zalman CNPS7000A Cu though, and the Zalman is a bolt on one.

zalman cnps-7000a works very well too.

the best now is the thermalright sp-97 with a 92mm tornado

A little OT,

For the AMD 64 chips, or Opterons... how do you put the heatsink on?
Usually, you'd just put a small amount of thermal grease where the HS would touch the chip.
But these new chips have the whole top surface to relieve(?) the heat. Do you just put thermal grease on the whole surface of the heatsink?

Dude you have to get the SP97. I think it is maybe the best heatsink at the moment. A lot of people here will tell you that the heatpipes on it are worthless but I accidentaly broke the fan I had on it and left it off and when I touched the heatpipes they were the hottest part compared to the sides. Id say put a Tt Smart Fan II on it which is what I have and you'll have excellent cooling performance. According the MB specs it runs at 25c idle and 29c load but its probably a couple degrees higher. Still those are some good temps and mine is overclocked. It cost $50+ on newegg but it is very worth it.

Either Thermalright sp-97 with Tornado, or a Zalman 7000.

I'd take the Zalman, but that's because I want a quiet computer. Both are very effective coolers though.
