I'm looking for an HSF for my C2Q...

looking unto Arctic Freezer 7 or Asus Silent Knight II..
problem is I only have a Mid Casing with the height capacity of 4 DVD/CD Drives...

Is there a good HSF for C2Q mild OC'ing but a small one to fit into my Mid Casing..

I have read a lot of good reviews on the Arctic Freezer...considering one myself. If your case is a mid-tower it should fit. Micro-ATX might be tuff.

The height of the case doesn't make a difference as most are tower coolers thus the width of the case being the thing to consider. Though some towers go over the edge of the board and then you need to have some clearance if your PSU is on the top.

AF Freezer is a decent budget cooler, you will not be able to get good temps at anything above stock voltage with a Q6600. If you want decent Overclocks then get a Ultra 120TR or a Sunbeam Tuniq. Quads put out a lot of heat and require a little better than what those two can offer. If you staying stock just use the stock cooler and undervolt it.

What exact case do you have and what exact motherboard do you have.

You'd think Edz would have at least change his posting MO just a little bit so he wasn't so snappily identified by the mods.

Edz - here's a hint, don't end every line-item sentence fragment with "...", see you after the break bud.

BTW despite the OP's unsavory parole violation I was actually hoping this thread topic would attract some attention because I am really curious what the concensus is out there for good coolers on Q6600's.

according to Dtung, he's a GOD WCGer who probably has more quadcores then my age, says the Tuniq Tower will win any sink with a good even and flat mount.

The Ultra120Extreme is also another great sink, but the base is really not flat. A good lapping is required.

If your absolute space limited, the Ultima90 might be an okey solution. However, if your rear exhaust fan on the case is a 120mm fan, i dont see how a utra120extreme wouldnt fit. It will be VERY TIGHT, but it will fit.

Aigo, thanks again for the super advice. I just picked up 5 tuniq towers from Newegg so I am hoping your WCGer divine entity is as good as you talked them up to be

We didn't lock this thread so continue the discussion.
We also think he may already be back with a different ISP or a proxy. In fact, you even responded to the possible account.
We'll keep an eye on it.
