ok I'm thinking of making the switch to full on Inet TV, I did it before, but then I moved in with the girlfriend and my method of computer hooked to tv did not meet aproval lol and found setting up a nice interface way to much mainence for me to mess with. so with the recent push of settop boxes figured I would take a look at this again. Is there a setop box that will accomplish the following reletively cheap?

-HDMI output
-Optical out
-1080p suport
-Supports, Hulu, ESPN 3, Netflix, and hopefully isn't blocked by the networks as well?
-Good streaming off local network support
-easy to use
-Relatively cheap since i'll need to get 2 boxes for living room and bedroom

I'm guessing i'll hit a roadblock on something, Xbox 360 peaked my interest as an option, but that costs another 8 bucks a month to access hulu, espn, and netflix on top of the subscription costs for those services.

A cheap box to access some of your options would be the new Rokus... an Xbox 360 would do the trick for some of your options...

GoogleTV box by Logitech is the more expensive option but from what I've seen and hear it is in its Alpha stages and still needs some work and some features are block or unavailable from what they originally marketed...

My advice is to wait if you don't need one right away to wait for a box that will do what you want once they announce the features you are looking for are available....

Or if you need one right away get a cheap option and upgrade later for your living rooom tv and use the cheap solution for your bedroom...

There's also the WDTV Live Hub (has a 1TB hard drive built in if that matters) that Anandtech reviewed a few weeks ago, and the Boxee Box which is brand new but that was also reviewed as well.

The Xbox 360 is good if you actually want to play games on Live on it. And there's also the PS3 which is still one of the better Blu-Ray players out there...

I own a Roku Digital Video Player. The HD model & it works quite well, they are always adding more stuff.

If you want the best of both worlds then getting two streaming devices would be a good way to get a lot of content.

Like a Roku DVP & PS3 as Sony is seems to be adding more all the time. Or the 360 if you want ESPN.

I say Roku DVP as I own one and it works great. Comes in 3 different models. You can check out the Boxee Box, Google TV or whatever else looks good too. Just find two devices that offer streaming with things you like. Have each one have something the other one doesn't so they compliment each other.
