Best KT133A mobo??

I got my memory running at 133 MHz CAS3 with 4-way interleave by raising the ram voltage to 3.4 volts.

I still can't get above 110 MHz FSB (with the ram running at 100 MHz), I'm going to try to lower the multiplier to see if this (6,5*110) really is the limit of the chip.

I did try to raise the chip voltage to 1,8 volts, but still no luck, the chip is running at a comfy 32C idle temp, with a GW FOS-32 cooler, so heat shouldn't be an issue.

You asked for some mem benches, so here they are (from Sandra 2001)

Duron 650@715 (110 Mhz FSB), mem @143 MHz, CAS 3, 4-way interleave (pretty good for old PC100 ram )

ALU: 459
FPU: 558

So with CAS 2 mem you should be able to get in the 600's

very nice wic PC100 and 700's. Just in case you are upgrading to PC133 I found generic modules with micron chips were awesome (good and cheap). But now that Kingmax low profile looks sweet.

I got my Duron running at 900

FSB 100, Memory at 133 CAS 3 w 4-way interleave.

Mem benches stays the same, but CPU marks are reaching the skies.

What voltage are you running the CPU at???

Heh, good question.
The BIOS says 1.775
The Via HW Monitor says 1.84

Not sure which is correct, if the BIOS is I might be able to go higher, but I don't want to increase the voltage beyond 1.85 volts.

I am new at this and will be trying it for the first time when I get my board. I guess I don't understand why you cant get the fsb to 133 if that's what the board is for. I was under the impression the 200fsb cpu's could get there and you wouldn't have to have a new AMD "C" type 266fsb cpu. Can someone explain why CHHASmatroxuser can get his PC100 ram to 143 but not the fsb?

I think I figured it out (I'm actually quite sure of this).
I can run at 133 FSB (doing it now), but not at FSB's that are out of specs, like 112 MHz.
I tried setting the multiplier at x7.0 and the FSB at 133 MHz, and that's what I'm running now.
Why this is I have no idea, all my peripherals have run at 41 MHz PCI with my Katmai.
However my memory won't run with interleave at 133 MHz FSB, so I think I'll set the multiplier at x8.5 and the FSB at 110, this way I can run at 935 MHz with 143 MHz ram CAS 3 4-way interleave.

From what I read in Anand's KT133A article, the 686B Southbridge (used on all KT133A boards) is not properly supported by Win2K - resulting in slow IDE performance! I want to get an A7V133, but since I run Win2K, I was wondering if anyone knows the status of this problem?Text

Today I just purchased, and am now using, an Abit KT7A-RAID, Duron 650 running 865--1.60v, 6.5*133, Micron PC-100, FOP32-1 fan...no other changes...running 6 hours without a problem...temps at a cool 32 degrees...I am impressed, and have not even begun to REALLY tweak it.

I've owned 2 Abit boards (Bx6-r2, and KT7A-RAID), both of them overclocked...no real issues...very pleased...See "My Rig's"...look at #1.

Talking about KT133A mobos, I found the Gigabyte 7ZXR (ver 2) reviewed at www.ocworkbench.com, and it seems very very good to me... The Gigabyte site doesn't have info about it (just ver 1, which is old KT133) and I haven't been able to find info on any other sites, or find it online in any retailers... If it is the way ocworkbench presents it, it seems even better tha the KT7A and the K7T-TurboR.
Any comments?

Does your board have jumper JP17 ? It's supposed to be present in PCB versions F1 or later. What version did you recieve from SoltekUSA in last couple of weeks?

The issue is FSB > 133 MHz not automatically switching from a PCI divider of 3 to 4. See:
