Best lappy platform for College?

What would be of better use for an EE degree?

I'm thinking PC, but, yeah, I'm in the UK and not at Uni age. Target will be going to Boston U.

you make it sound like you don't do work on a mac.

it boils down to if you like vista, or like os x. And if you're willing to forgo the choice of cheap hardware with apple and pay for their design (I've found it to be a love-hate thing).

ask the school what programs they'll be using. EE, more than likely the software will be windows based.

For the price you'll get about twice the computer than a mac. Should be an obvious choice.

Duh. Mac.

It runs OSX and if you're so inclined, you can dual boot Winblows or run it in virtualization.

Macs aren't worth the money. I find the mildly annoying, but they are rapidly multiplying amongst students and wannabe trendy faculty in the .edu realm.
