Best laptop purchase for wife

Im looking for some advice on which option will be the best place to put my funds. The laptop is the HP v6t. The specs are:

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Core i3-330M
4GB DDR3
500GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
Intel HD Graphics - For i3 and i5 Processors
Display 15.6" (1366x768)

Wife does not game but she does use Skype, watches movies, uses Hulu, and like to watch tv shows online.

My question is - Will the intregrated graphics be enough (with the 4GB of RAM), or should I spend the extra $ for the GeForce G 105M upgrade?

I dont really know much about laptop performance; Im mainly a desktop gamer). I have setteld on this one because I can get a really good deal through my place of employement.

change 500gb drive for 80gb SSD
make sure you have ADS/DMR warranty for 3 years added.

or get the $799 macbooc and swap in a ssd - she will be more than happy and you won't have to baby sit another pc.

(im not a mac fanboy but do have to babysit 50+ machines but 10 windows machines at home. its endless)

You do not need to spend more than $500 to get a laptop that's more than capable of all of those things. I'd go with this guy:

For a similar price in Intel flavor, all you get is a Pentium Dual core and a much weaker integrated graphics chip. Which, if she's got a lot running in the background, halfway decent graphics might help with Skyping live video, or photo type stuff, or light gaming. These Athlon II and Turion II processors compete with Core 2 Duos, which are above Pentiums.

The i3 mobile cpu's are really nice too, but the graphics are laughable. I really wish they'd done more with that. Good cpu power though, if you plan on running Folding@Home, or converting HD video to other formats... I think though for what she'd use it for, it's a bit much. There's such a thing as future proof yes, but I've made the mistake of buying a laptop with more than I needed. (if I sound bitter, lol yes I am)

If you can get a good deal on a Core 2 Duo laptop, or one of these Athlon II ones, I'd say those would be more than enough for these tasks. Up to you though.

if she doesn't game, she doesn't need discreet graphics.

Radeon 4200 is not discrete graphics, it is integrated, and I believe 55nm.

thanks for the advice. I can get a good deal on the i3 and its in my budget so I would like to go with it.

Since the intel graphics or the nvidia graphics use shared memory, will 4Gb be enough? Should I increase to 6?
