best LCD 1920x 1200 monitor for under $500

i'm shopping for a new LCD, my 5 year old Dell 2001FP 20.1 inch LCD aint cutting it anymore

what is the best monitor you guys would recommend with the best panel for under $500 with a resolution of 1920x1200

Doublesight ds-265w
It seems more problematic than its predecessor ds-263n but it should still be a great monitor, not to mention the IPS panel.
Other option would be a 2408wfp (probably have to wait a bit for a deal to drop it to $500).

2408WFP is actually at $519 right now before tax and shipping at Dell US Home. If I were in your situation I'd nab that in a second. My limited experience with Dell monitors tells me they are excellent.

Similar option to the Dell 2408WFP is the HP LP2475w, but that doesn't go on sale nearly as often as the Dell.

I have an LG L246WP and I love it. Its a non-TN panel and it has a great stand also. IDK if anyone sells it anymore though.

That looks impressive, but the few places that do carry it are $600 or more or refurbs for ~$400, except for one with a terrible resellerrating but bet it's refurb as well even though it doesn't say it. Looks to be on par with the Dell 240xwfp series.
I'd still recommend the Doublesight monitor however. It does have a 3 year warranty so if anything happens, you are covered. It's an IPS so it's better than all other 1920x1200 panels <$500. If you want to save money though, you could get some $200 22"/24" 1080p/1920x1200 monitors (TN though). At that price, you could even go dual screen and have enough left to get a dual lcd desk mount from ebay (seller cputopia or through his site cputopia.com).
