Best live band ever

Pink Floyd was one hell of a concert, Tragically Hip where pretty good in concert about 10 years ago.

Hard to pick just one - have to agree that Creed put on an incredible live show when I saw them tour for My Own Prison. Soundgarden was also amazing in a club setting when they were on the road for Louder Than Love, Deep Purple was equally impressive in support of Perfect Strangers, and I will never forget seeing Thin Lizzy on the Thunder and Lightning tour (their 2nd to last show ever). As far as a pure aural assault, it is hard to beat Sevendust, IMO.

Why 'unfortunately'? I've never seen them live, but have definitely always wanted to. Interested to hear why they sucked live.

i saw them live at lollapalooza and i loved it...but then again i heard they played at some show other show near chicago and they sucked.

Best large venue/crowd show: RUSH. I don't think their current shows can match what they did 15+ years ago though. They still put on a great show but I'm glad I saw them when I did.

/thread. If you don't believe me, watch just one song from "Live at Wembley" or "Live Aid." there's good live bands, there's great live bands, and then there's Queen. They're not even my favorite band, but there is just no denying the god-like power of Freddie Mercury in front of 80,000 people.

edit: Looked through the thread. I've seem many of the bands that people have listed, and although there are some great live bands listed, none hold a candle to Queen.

I'm definitely going to have to go with Dream Theater.

I have seen them three times... Co-Headlining with Yes, at Gigantour, and one of their "evening with" shows on the Octavarium tour. All of the shows were top notch, and the evening with show was three hours of non stop amazing performance.

I can't wait to see them later this month of their Chaos in Motion tour.

they just sounded tight.
ive seen bands like the deftones and the smashing pumpkins live and they were absolutely horrendous, vocals sounded nothing like they were on the cd, cornell otoh..wow, he can really belt it out.
they did blow up the outside world..and it was ***** amazing!

I saw chris cornell with audioslave when he lost his voice. For what it was, he was pretty impressive.

Weezer sounds and looks like a cd. Their live show can diaf. Tool sounds real tight live. RHCP can sound very tight live. Cure sounded pretty good too. The lead guy from AFI and Linkin Park sounded real good live too. That being said that entire LP concert was forgettable.

The mars volta sound f'n HORRENDOUS live (SDSU arena). Can't understand or hear sht. White stripes sounded 'ok' (coachella 01 or something). Can't think of any other bands that I would mark as horrendous
