Best Mac friendly budget laser printer?

I'm looking for a good monochrome laser printer that works well with Macs.

I've seen a couple from Brother and Samsung that look pretty nice, any experience with these?

Here are some things to keep in mind:

I'd like to spend less than $150.
I don't print pictures (hence the b/w laser).
My print volume is very low (I've managed for 4 years with no home printer at all).
Built in Ethernet would be a bonus but not required.
A small footprint is also a bonus.

..oh, and I despise HP with a burning passion...

I really like the Samsung series of personal laser printers. I have a white one that matches the Mac look really nicely. Brother has a black network laser printer that's supposed to be pretty nice as well:

This is a decent small laser printer and very inexpensive, kinda cheap and kinda cheap quality too but yuo get what yu opay for. For the price ($110-120) its pretty good IMO. I have used it over a friend house and it worked fine minus a few paper feed issues at times. (I use an old HP laserjet at home and a canon PIXMA inkjet).

There are some things you didnt mention that you may want to consider, scanning and faxing options, duplexing, and Post Script option (which I doubt you will need or want unless you are a mac user or print alot of artwork/fonts. Also the toner costs are important but not so much if you do not use it much.

This brother printer is supposedly (I havent use it myself) pretty decent with scanning and feed options.



This lexmark is pretty good if you want a network laser printer. The processor is pretty fast and it has a decent memory size (32mb)(which isn't that important if you do not use it much). It also has PS3 (post script 3) support which again is nice if you use a lot of different fonts and artwork.

I was actually looking at this Brother as an option but a friend of mine owns one and he says that it does have a problem with paper curling, I assume something to do with the paper path in this particular model.

I have that printer and it is pretty nice, but it does curl the paper a little. It's not bad enough for me to really care about it, so I'm happy with it.

As for "mac-friendly" printers, osx makes printing extremely easy. Any major brand printer should just show up when you connect it. Even network printing is ridiculously easy. It's just one of those "it works" aspects of macs.
