Like the topic asks, who makes the best cards? MSI? EVGA? etc.

You named them.

EVGA & MSI. (Since the subjectivity is strong, my rationale is that they have the best warranty with allowing switching coolers / TIM, and generally have solid cards - lightning is usually about the best along with the classified).

Asus makes decent cards but it's a minefield trying to deal with their terrible RMA service (US/Indiana office iirc) so I avoid them.

After that Gigabyte seems ok, XFX (dd 290/x, not the 79xx series) with their lifetime warranty are pretty solid, sapphire takes a bit of flack but their 290 tri-x is solid.

Everything else being close (especially price) I would take EVGA or MSI.

Although not listed, if I buy Nvidia cards, I usually get Galaxy. Good RMA and price is usually lower than EVGA, ASUS, Gigabyte and MSI. Probably due to lack of budget on marketing.

if I go for AMD I get Sapphire or MSI.

This assuming I buy custom cooling cards. If reference, any brand is fine.

mos tof the manufacturers stopped offering lifetime warranty... but if you look there are a few left.

Sapphire is the EVGA for AMD.

Yup, same here, Sapphire and EVGA have been good to me.
