Question Best match for upgrading system

Hello,

I currently have:
i5-4460 + H81 (with one ram slot either by MBD or CPU dead)
500 Watt decent cooler master PSU with 6-pin connector
ASUS Geforce 960 2GB
Both the CPU and GPU VRAM heavily bottlenecks the system

I have following options in used market:
i7-4770 (65$)
i7-4790 (70$)
i7-4770K (80$)

i7-4770 + MBD + 8/16GB RAM + Cheap Casing + Cheap PSU = 125$
Ryzen PCs were starting from 225$

RX-6600 (250$)
2060 Super (250$)
1660TI/1660S (180$)
3050 (NEW) (360$)

My upgrade plan is:
Purchase complete i7-4770 system, and swap its MBD+CPU with the existing ones
Preferably buy RX-6600 and use molex+6-pin to make a 8-pin connector
Alternatively buy 1660TI/S and use molex+6-pin to make a 8-pin connector
Thus in 300$ or 375$ I will have upgraded by existing PC and have another similar PC

My expectations:
Playing games released by 2020 with stable (non-stuttering) 30fps
Is my build okay?

Another option might be the new Arc GPU's from Intel as the highest end A770 is only $350 and has 16GB of RAM on board.

Whether it will play well with a gen 4 CPU though is a good question. // According to this https://www.digitaltrends.com/compu...tel says the Arc A770,Ryzen 3000 CPU or newer. You would need to step up to a 10th+ CPU. If you were going to / willing to make that leap you might as well go to 12th gen and be current-ish.

You're talking about HW though that's from 2013 which almost requires a time machine to go back to remembering what's compatible and what's not. Using a system with DDR3 limitations means it's going to cost more if something dies.

If you want to stick with your plan though then just focus on the GPU with either the 2060 or 6600. If you want to do a drop in upgrade then the K CPU is the most potent to unlocking some extra performance.

No problem!

The only thing to consider though is the $$ you're putting into a slight upgrade vs a complete overhaul taking you into the next decade. If you have the means to do so it would be a better buy to upgrade completely. You'll have a more efficient setup from a power stand point and also unlocking more options that are slightly more expensive than the options you're looking at.
