Best memory choice.

Have or is on order everything for my new system except the memory, have narrowed it down to i think two. 512MB Corsair CAS2 PC2700 DDR or MUSHKIN CAS2.5 PC3000. Which one, or am always open to suggestions from you guys that know a **** of a lot more than i do. Thanks

since you're not going to oc that much (considering it's a 1.6a), i would go with the corsair 2700. (my rig is similar but have 2400 corsair).

also, another thing to consider is whether your mb can handle 3000 ddr. my p4b266 can handle only 2100, but i opted to pay a little extra to get 2400 b/c it can be oc'ed better. but if i were to get 3000, i can oc even more. you get the idea?

another thing is, i believe you can oc 2100 to be at the speed of 2400 or even 2700. so i'm sure you can oc 2700 to the speed of 3000, but always remember that you always have that much more oc'ing room when you go for the 3000.

so it all depends on how much you wanna oc. and i believe corsair is the best ram (why i bought it).

Since you have a SIS645 board I would highly suggest Original Samsung PC2700 or Corsair XMS3000. I have my Corsair XMS3000 running at 206 with aggressive settings on the Gigabyte 8SRX.

Unfortuanately neither of your choices , original samsung pc2700 outperformed every other DDR memory Mushkin , crucial, kingston, corsair , OCZ, all the major brands were put to test and samsung 2700 outperformed them all , some by a large margin .

Yes there was a ddr roundup but I cant remember where it was as it was posted a few days ago usind all the main brands of pc2700 , I viewed it myself and samsung was the clear winner and the editor of the roundup also said samsung was the clear winner.
