The K is made for overclocking and the boards coast more so if you want to save buy the regular chip and a "media" as Intel would classify it motherboard.

Look at all of the features of the motherboards you list. Figure out if you want to pay for extra SATA ports, wifi, and what have you.

They will all OC equally well for the most part. My personal recommendation is the asus Z87 K. You certainly do NOT need a 300$ motherboard to overclock a Haswell. The Z87 K will do the job just fine, so long as it meets your requirements for extras as I mentioned earlier. The only thing I recommend is a versatile CPU cooler to maximize your overclock - I really like the corsair closed loop coolers such as the H80i and H100i. If you go cheap on a cooler, that will translate to less of an overclock. (it is also subject to CPU silicon lottery as well, obviously)

He doesn't want or need a 200$+ motherboard. If he is only using one GPU, there is no need for more than 1 pcie 3.0 slot - if you want SLI, you want a pricier motherboard. Soundcards and that type of thing certainly don't warrant PCIE 3.0, the only time that additional 3.0 slots are ever of use is for a PCIE SSD (very expensive, out of reach for most folks) or SLI video cards. And if you want SLI you'd need a pricier motherboard....

Anyway, the 150$ Asus K will do the job just fine, and will OC the CPU just fine. I'm not sure about the cooler, as i'm not able to load the website mentioned - but i'm a big fan of closed loop coolers. The corsair H50 should do you well if it fits in your case, OP.

The H80i makes to much noise unless you replace the fans. I have one on a 3770K and I don't believe a 84 output could be handled by a 50.

I don't know to be honest. I do closed loop water coolers for Intel Socket 2011 and they require special cases to hold the radiator and one 3770K with a H80i that I had to get 9 blade fans in a push pull configuration because the stock fans were crazy noisy.
Your best to do your own research and look at reviews at newegg.com for number of stars and look at the people that gave the product a one star rating for product flaws that repeat a general flaw theme.

My suggestion also is that you get the i5 version of 4 cores and save a 100 because from experience what are you going to use 8 threads for anyway?
