Also What is the difference between the A7V & the A7V-E?

I believe that the A7V266 contains the old Via KT266 chipset while the A7V266-E contains the new KT266A performance chipset.

Personally, I feel that the EPoX 8KHA+ is the best board for Athlon XP: it's price is much less than that of the Asus and Abit boards, and it is really solid when it comes to performance, stability, overclocking, etc.

shuttle is an easy choice.
Since you are not OCing anyway.
It's been running soling for me.
Asus is overpriced IMHO.

Soyo Dragon+ is my pick literally, look at some of the reviews(Toms,Overclockers,ect.). I haven't seen anything but excellent words about it. A little cheaper than the Asus but not much. Comes with lan, 5.1 sound, front usb, and the promise raid controller will work single ended unlike some of the others. Forgot the smart card reader,just as well I don't know what to do with it anyway.

Someone just posted that Newegg will no longer carry any Epox boards, due to the high rma rate. He tried to get a replacement Epox board, but had to choose something else.

I like my Epox 8KHA+ it`s been very good I had no problems with setup and it booted first time,install of XP was smooth and I mainly use it now for gaming so stability is important which I`ve .

I have owned Abits before, but the Soyo Dragon + is really a nice board. It has all that you need, I really recommend it!

i have a question about the AOpen mb for athlonXP...when it comes to stability, which is the better choice AK77 Pro or AK77 Plus, and how do both of those mb's compare to Asus A7V266-E

I've tried the Asus, Epox, Shuttle and Gigabyte (very good board by the way). Got a non raid Abit KR7A a week ago and "forget about it" the Abit is the best Kt266a out there going away. Great Board.
