I've been fighting with Asus' (lack of) customer support for about a week now trying to get a failed P8P67 Pro RMAed. Days of reps not returning calls, missed deadlines, and being ignored has left me completely sick of the company. This is far and away the worst customer service I have ever experienced in any context. I understand that boards and other components fail sometimes. That's just a fact of life. Really, the measure of a company is how well they treat their customers and fix the problem. So: I'm looking for a different company for any future builds, because Asus has lost me as a customer after this debacle.

Who do you all find have the best, most responsive customer service? It seems like across the board, dealing with customer service for boards is pretty poor. Does anyone stand out?

your experience is odd IMO. ASUS has always been top-notch in customer service for me.

I'll second TemjinGold's recommendation of EVGA. I've never dealt with their motherboards, but their support of video cards has always been excellent.

That's good to know. After a couple of days calling one of the techs said that their internet connection had been cut (physically - some idiot digging in the wrong spot in the street) so their database had mostly been down. At that point, I felt like I'd been blown off and ignored so often I frankly didn't believe him, but if their support is normally good maybe he was telling the truth and I let my frustration get to me a little too much.

EVGA. Now, they aren't perfect, however, because they are really late to the party with P67 and there are the occasional report of warranty denied due to EVGA claiming damaged LGA socket pins while end user claims pins were fine (he said, she said).

Still, no matter how good their service is, if they don't have anything compelling for me to buy, then I won't buy.

I'm mixed about Asus; on the one hand it took them two months to repsond to an email; on the other hand after two months (and without nagging) they did respond
-
Hum. Hum. You know in 15 years I've never had a motherboard failed. In fact the only thing that has failed is one lousy dvd drive. Even the disk drives I ran for 12 years 24/7 never failed.
-
Oh well I must be doing something wrong.
-
I guess this doesnt' really answer your question. Right now my fav. company for support has been G.Skill. I've been very impressed by their detailed responses to issues. Pity they don't make motherboards.

I was going to hop in here and recommend Asus. I only ever had to use them twice. I bought a laptop, came with 2 year warranty, 1 yard accidental. Anyways, it was having issue, fan was making some noise, called em up, they sent me a fedex account number, used it... got laptop back 2 days later. I figure thats good turn around, only without it for 2 days total. They fixed the noisy exhaust fan, and replaced the dvd drive their tests said had an issue.

Then later I had an issue with it overheating... sent it in, they either replaced the vid... or I am guessing, as how laptops are built, replaced the whole system board... Techs though forgot to screw the base plate on, or include screws... (happens sometimes, lol). So I called them up, and next day I got a bag full of screws. Was gone only two days that time as well.

So all in all, good experience. I would say the best had they not forgot the screws that 2nd time, but I am sure it was an honest mistake and not typical.

I think it depends on the country you live in,this is a typical reply for people like myself that live in UK,

Gigabytes Warranty service is much better than Asus. Gigabyte turnaround is 2-3 days from Milton Keynes - UK.

Asus were supposed to have improved their RMA turnaround with a 3rd party repair service via Creative Computing, but still hear of people waiting over 28 days.

Even Asrock, MSI are based in the Netherlands, not good if you plan on owning a motherboard for more than a year when retailers will push you over to the manufacturer to organise RMA.

Biostar main base is in the Netherlands but the distributor Target Computing handle RMA for them in the UK.

Gigabyte Warranty is superior to all other motherboard manufacturers for people in the UK.

So for UK its Gigabyte.

Raj@Asus?

P8P67 Deluxe has left me with no system for over a month and still ticking. I RMAed on the intel chipset issue and Asus replaced it johnny on the spot no questions asked.

2nd board DOA. they RMAed it I paid 20 some odd dollars to ship and recieved a repaired replacement in about 2 weeks time. Same exact error Q-Code 30 and memory led lit right up. I am now waiting for another replacement.

Seems that repaired board should have been tested. I have had two instances where they said they would call me back... no dice on the first time. waiting to hear back tonight.

Frustration level is rising very very fast. So I would at least hear this...Asus's support status is in question with me now. I am gazing at a 3000.00 computer with no board, sporting a pair of Asus 27" monitors, Asus Blue ray and DVDr and a couple of Asus video cards sitting on the table.

Bottom line in 15 years of PC's I have built which is a large number, all built on Asus, and never a DOA. So needless to say I cant comment on their support until now.

Raj I hope your getting this.:\:\:\

Anyone but Tyan. I bought a server motherboard from them and even though they admitted flaws with the design they refused to fix the issue for users. The solution according to Tyan was to buy the newly released model. Paid over $400 for the board and that was the last $$$ Tyan will ever get from me.

Looking back, the only mainboard that ever failed me was the 'ole Epox 8RDA+ Socket A mainboard. but that model was susceptible to leaking caps which was sad because it was such a good (OCing) mainboard.

Sad they went under but they deserve it if they were cheaping out on the parts.

Actually most of the top brands were effected by the leaking caps issue back in those days.

THIS - i actually did. after a horrid, three times shipped back broken, experience with creative computing, i just chucked out my 8800gts. then when my p45 mobo started to whistle at the audio jack, it went in the bin.

Similar situation here.
Last year I tried to get an ASUS VC RMA'd after it died about 3 months before the warranty was up. I never did get any kind of response and ended up chucking it in the trash. I admit I wasn't overly aggresive in pursing the RMA, but should I have to be? A few emails and filling out an on-line request should be enough to at-least get a response.

I might still buy another ASUS MB if I really liked it, but I will stay away from their VC's from now on. Too many other good makers there to worry about dealing with non-existant support.

HeHe, Lol !!

If my time and frustration is worth $25 per hour, Why would anyone want to waste their time dealing with the Piss Poor State of Customer Service??

I iether send MB back to retailer within 30 days or keep it till it expires or is irelevant...

However slow Asus did resolve my issue it took 30 days. I believe Asus may have a process issue, but not a personnel issue. I was always treated with courtesy and respect, along with a desire to resolve my issue.

I will continue to purchase Asus products, as this is the only RMA issue I have had in the 15 years of building on their platforms and using their products.

Thanks for the offer Raj, don't need an assist this time!!
