Thread inspired by mention of Johnny Cash's "When The Man Comes Around" which was used (quite well) in the season finale of The Sarah Connor Chronicles. It's an excellent juxtaposition, a cheery sounding song about The Armageddon, used over scenes of intense (implied) violence.

It reminded me of this. Probably my favorite movie intro ever.

There's nothing I dislike more about a movie than sitting through 5 minutes of names displayed over meaningless graphics before a movie starts.

the intro into Dawn of the dead playing that same Cash song is 1000x better

I swear that intro was made to trip people out like crazy in preparation. And then moving into silent scenery before you move to the first part was cool.

The intro to swordfish was awesome, although the rest of it sucked (with the exception of halley berrys titties). Lord of war was pretty good overall...

I checked out the clip on Youtube and recently rented it. I really enjoyed the movie. While it may not be a 'great' movie, I felt like giving it a perfect rating on IMDb simply because it was wickedly entertaining, fast-paced and Cage's character had a strange, likable quality about him - even though he was essentially a 'merchant of death', a man profiting off the miserable blood-drenched lives of others.
