Best non VIA socket A mobo?

What is best mobo around for the TBird/Duron which does notuse the VIA chipset? VIA chipsets are not compatible with a lot of professional audio cards and I intend to use my system as a audio/midi workstation. Thanks.

errr I think that Gigibyte made an AMD 750 based socket A board, (don't remember the number, but you could go to their site and find out which one that is), beyond that, I think thats about it. Though there may be more socket A boards based off of the 750, or you could try to find a 760 DDR board or a ALI MaGiK board, but both of those are very expensive if you can find them at all, and would require purchasing new ram, the 750 boards will just run it at 100 mhz even if you have pc133, but it should at least work, make sure it doesn't have a via south bridge though, cause if it does it still won't work.

OK I went ahead and looked it up real quick, the gigabyte board based off of the amd 751 north bridge and 756 south bridge is the GA-7IXE4.

Ok one last quick post, a little jump over to pricewatch and I see that the GA-7IXE4 is going for around $89 at the cheapest, its prolly not the fastest board out there, but hey it would prolly work.

Ok I admit it, I am bored, but hey it ain't always bad to have someone look up a bunch of stuff for you right? Oh well I found AMD 760 DDR boards starting at $149 - out of stock, and $169 - instock at http://www.altima2000.com, if you wanted to get new DDR ram, oh well hope this helps, now I think its about time for bed.

Maybe check with the sound card manufacturers just to make sure they are compatible, but I hear its a decent board. Good luck
