So far Bittorrent >> * (with Azureus being my #1 client). Of course it's helped by having sheer volume and content variety on its side among all p2p protocols.

KLite K++ is good too (provided you could somehow get it ) but prone to corruption. It's superior to DietK which feels a tad too unwieldy (it's basically a band-aid on top of the spyware-rich Kazaa).

As for Overnet, eDonkey sorry but I've to say they suX0rs big time in terms of connection speed. For all I know it could be one of their esoteric network configurations that I did not tweak right, but I could no longer be bothered.

Never tried DC++ before.

I have found everything im looking for with edonkey....but for some reason i only get >10KBs download speeds, which makes it frustrating to get a file that takes a week to get

I still like KL++, I tried DC++ but I couldn't get DL speeds like in KL++ because you can't DL from multiple users concurently.

Is there anything that handles downloads just like KL?

Get a new router. Bittorrent automaticly uploads and downloads at the same time with many multiple connections. Cheap routers weren't designed to handle this level of traffic, so they implode. (thats my guess.)

Also some cheap nic cards and such can't handle the connections...

Pretty much. BT seems to be the acid test for a router's cooling and addressing table.

Check to see if there's a firmware update for your router.

Your router probably can't handle all the connections. Try lowering them in settings, I think the default is 50. Change it to like 25. Also, try downloading/seeding only 1 file at a time.

I had this same probably with a Netgear wireless router. I swamped my stuff to linksys and everything works perfect.

You can get lots of files via ed2k that you will not see on many other networks though!

Once I complete my download of some UK TV shows the ah heck will be uninstalled. I'd suggest using this program on a stand-alone system that you do not want to use for anything else.

It really does strangle your entire system to a virtual halt!
