FTFY Mr. Smartypants
Doesn't matter. I'm an engineer.
*does the engineer dance*
FTFY Mr. Smartypants
Like a true engineer, you can't write for a damn and you don't care because you got your point across!
Money for nothing and your chicks for free.
That's why I'm an Engineer
That's why engineers made spelling and grammar check!
I'm one of those engineers who harasses your wifeAnd if you are a female Engineer you get sexually harassed by all the male Engineer's.
<-- Wife is an engineer
My number was larger than that and wasn't from a defense contractor. Also in a relatively low COL area. The defense thing is overplayed. That number would be lower if you took out the offers from the large defense contractors like Boeing, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Northrup-Gruman, etc.
You mean getting a real job pays better than not a real job? No shit.
option A: engineering major then get a real job
option B: english major then have sex with all of your female class mates then work at starbucks after graduating :hmm:
B still sounds like more fun.

QFT ^ 1,000.
yes, we could all use more cupertino on this matter.
$60K was the floor. I knew people who were making much more than that, some by as much as 50% more. That was a 4-5 years back. And this spans the engineers working for both contractors and the Navy. I wouldn't be surprised if the floor is 75k or 80k now. I also knew people who were working for private non-defense and they were making much lower, anywhere from 30-50k.My number was larger than that and wasn't from a defense contractor. Also in a relatively low COL area. The defense thing is overplayed.

Is it bad that I'm graduating with my BS in Mechanical Engineering from RIT and will take anything $45k and up?
Does this mean that the ass kicking I'm receiving from the school is going to worth it? Fucking Aerospace Engineering. SO MUCH STUDYING.
Depends on your grades. If your GPA is less than 3.2, then $45k sounds reasonable. If your GPA is 3.5+, I'd be shooting for at least $60k.
