I am looking for a printer. I was using BJC-4300 from Canon.
It is sucks because the print head is always broken and have to get a new one.
Is there any solution for this?? or i should get a new one??
I prefer those type that the cartridge come with the print head like HP's because i just have to buy the refills that come with cartridge and print head. is that really good??
please comment

Buy yourself an HP 930 series printer. It's probably the best choice in terms of price/performance right now in terms of what you seem to be looking for.

I am thinking of getting those type that the cartridge come with the print heard one instead of seperated one line Canon. So, Canon is out of my list. Any comment?

that eliminates epson too. They suck ink soooo much and the text quality just isn't there on regular paper (dunno about the MOST RECENT ones, but w/in the last year, i still dont' like what I see from epson, text wise).

I'd recommend something from the HP 930... what's your price bracket?

The HP 932 is a much better buy than the 842. Faster, better warranty, higher resolution and I believe cheaper to operate in the long haul because with the 842, I think, you must use the low capacity ink cartridges so you'll buy 'em more often.

to be honest, the "low capcity ink" isn't that much of a problem.. at least it wasn't for me. When I bought a 832c, the cart that came with it was the eco version, same size as the regular for the 840 series now i believe. And I used it for some time, and printed quite a bit (albeit, i didn't print normal all the time, usually draft). I printed a lot for school, and finally had to use a new cart.

So basically, how much printing will you be doing?

One of the best printer last year was a Z51. It's been clearing out to make room for the Z52. You should be able to find at places like Staples for $79 on clearance. I think the warranty was about 1 yrs. They are pretty good w/ their warranty services.

I like Lexmark and HP, but ink costs are rather high. A good alternative I found was to have both an inkjet and a laser. I use the laser for 99 percent of the black and white print jobs. Per page cost is way down that way. You can find bargains on printers like the Epson Actionlaser 1500. This would of course occupy some added space in the workspace but gives you a cost efficient alternative.

Put it this way, I had to Epson's (6** series) and they both died. POS printheads clogged, which happens to a LOT of people. I have had my HP Deskjet 932C for 7 months now, and it has been great! I love this printer, and I have printed a ton with it.

With Epson you do not get new printheads when you change the cartridge, you do with the HP. There lies your answer.

if you can shell it, the 932 i'd say.

And you'd be a no brainer for just buying epson for text. Sorry to say, but it just isn't that good, and they tend to be loud and do their damn printhead cleaning every time you turn it on. It uses up a lot of ink. Granted, photo quality IS suberb to just about anything in the range, but we're looking at general usage here.

BTW: HP 930c $175 + $12 s/h - $30 off $150 coupon you can find at your local coupon site (PM me if you need it).

I have a Canon 610 and a HP Deskjet 752....both are like 4+ years old....LOTS AND LOTS of printing on both. Never had any problems with the units, cleaned both last year for first time and that's all the matenience I"ve done.

I've looked around at new printers. The LexMark Z52 would be my next printer....read several good reveiws..price is around $120-200 depending on where you buy and deals to be made.

Basically what impressed me was, when compared to other printers (HP, Epson, Canon, etc) was:

Lowest cost (or close to) per page(both paper and ink) in various modes.
Fastest (or close to) print speed
Cheapest ink supplies (from manufacturer...I NEVER use non OEM cartridges, they lack necessary lubrication for print heads and other things like color balance and fade reistance).
Among Best color reproduction, and fade reistance.
Beats equavalient printers costing much more....

My Two Pesos....

if you wanna buy printers.

go with HP.
Hp is definitely your choice. They dont make the money on the hardware at all. It's the ink cartrige you have to think. I worked for HP for over a year, they give their employee discount on the hardware stuff, but NO INKS. what a @#%@#.

And depends on what you want your printer to do. DO you want to print photos at large size? do you wanna it to take the smart media or the flash memory, so you can directly print out from the pictures you have taken in your digital camera? or just a normal printer? the lower end of the printer (under $150), they only prints out 400 black pages and 400 colors per cartrige (roughly) but if you go over $200 range. YOu can get a not bad one

p1000 is my suggestion.
