Best QUIET cooling for overclocked FCPGA processors?

After looking at Intel's spec sheet for PIII processors, I see there is a big difference between power draws for a 700Mhz processor (18.3 Watts) and a 933Mhz processor (24.5 Watts). I can see where a stock fan for a 700Mhz processor might not be enough for its 933Mhz brother.

(Side question - I wonder if the stock heatsink/fans are the same for the two processors?).

Bit of history - I have this GlobalWin setup I got from 2Cool for my overclocked 333Mhz -> 500Mhz PII ... problem is, this thing is WAY WAY TOO LOUD - too loud IMO. I really don't want to replicate the same problem with my new rig, which has twice the likelihood of an issue (I am building a dual FCPGA machine).

So my question is, what it the best combo for overclocking 700Mhz FCPGA processors - Golden Orb, Alpha, actually, I don't even know what's out there. Or would the stock cooling be enough?

Look for the Molex Radial Fin.

It should be good enough to cool your processor, and is the most quiet (~22 dBa) fan that I know.

They are saying Golden Orbs are quiet, as well. I have a Chrome Orb and it is WAY TOO LOUD, taking account my previous expectations.

The Orbs are rated at 26-29 dBa (I don't believe that rating though). My IBM harddrive is rated ~30 dBa in idle mode (and I trust IBM's specifications). The Orb sounds like 10 of my IBMs combined so it should be more like 40 dBa.

The Molex Radial Fin HS/F is quiet, but is only 7.42 CFM. If your case will allow it, with some modifications, you can try mounting a 80mm fan on top of your current CPU HS.

i agree with rainman. i have an 80mm Antec general case fan, 34cfm i believe, as an intake for my case. if you have a nice size heatsink, it would work well. they are very quiet i find, that is when i don't have some form of music playing

or a taisol socket A heatsink. They work extremely well for p3s(within 2 degrees of a pal6035 in my case), has an extremely quiet 60mm x10mm fan. Th only problem, you have to modify the clip to work with p3s.

An alpha with a sanyo fan should be pretty quiet too.

If it works (I've never seen or examined one) this fanless, passive cooler might be attractive for reducing noise.
