I suppose with all the reference to Samsung MV-3V4G3D-US_DDR3 on Anand Tek Forums will drive the price of it up more.

I've got a total of 40 GB of the stuff between my server and my PC in my Sig. I just made the timings better on my main PC as I'm running at stock volts. I bought it on sale for $50 per 8GB at microcenter when they were running a sale (actually at 55 per set but they lowered the price and I got a price adjustment )

It is surely great RAM. Running it on a Sandy at higher than 1866 to 2133 probably doesn't add anything, and I was pretty sure 1866 was the limit for the SB and skt-1155; for the IB and later skt-1155, the optimum is higher than that.

I'm just not going to pull my hair out searching for modestly-stock-clocked DDR3s such as those Sammy's now. I've had stellar kits that are spec'd at 1.5V, and I never had to change that voltage to run them higher when I was determined to do so.

I'm even wondering how many folks tried to under-volt their G.SKILLs and keep the same speed and timings. I wouldn't know myself, because I never bothered.

2nd best would be g.skill Trident-x ddr3 2400 cas9-10
or g.skill Trident-X 2600 cas10

probly about $130 a kit, though.

Can you use standard height memory? I had this same issue and decided to go with Corsair's Low Profile variant: same chips as far as I'm aware, different heat spreader. Don't worry about the heat spreader, by the way, at regular settings those things are purely for style, and for crazy overclocking, you better means of cooling them, so you'd be losing nothing by changing the memory height.

I bought these to fill in my 4th slot to fit under my CPU cooler. Ended up not mattering for me, as I did change my CPU cooler to the H100i in the end.

If you want to try the 8GB RAM, I'd recommend to go with 2x8GB in order to maintain dual-channel.
Asus does not specifically list hardly any 8GB sticks in their compatibility lists for the the P8Z68 boards, however, I don't believe the 4GB sticks I have are in their either, though there were other Corsair sticks listed.
That said, Corsair seems to suggest that any of the Vengeance chips should work just fine, so I don't think it would be that big of a gamble to try it out.

If anything, you can return due to incompatibility, but I think you'll be OK.

What CPU cooler do you have?

Just a thought or two.

Some folks worry they couldn't find a memory kit on a board's QVL list.

The board-makers can't afford to test every kit produced. A good indication might be a model-code of RAM at a lower speed which appears on the QVL list, which matches the model-code of a higher-speed kit. For instance, the G.SKILL "-GBRL" DDR3-1333 kits appeared on the QVL list for my mobo; the DDR3-1600 GBRL's didn't. For that, you'd figure the 1600's were totally compatible.

Second, the motherboard's QVL list is only the "first word;" RAM-makers may provide the second. For instance, G.SKILL -- perhaps other brands -- provide a "configurator" at their web-site. For every model of RAM, they provide a list of "compatible" motherboards.

Darkcei linked a Corsair Vengeance 8GB module. He can determine for himself whether it's compatible with the Z68 board -- it probably is. And some folks are happy with running a single stick in single-channel mode -- and that, too, is OK, I suppose. But you could buy an 8GB module or a 2x8GB kit that has tighter timings than the Vengeance. For instance:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...m_re=G.SKILL_DDR3-1600-_-20-231-567-_-Product

To be forthright, I'm definitely a G.SKILL advocate. But you can find modules and kits by Corsair which have the same spec, or (at least) a 2x4GB DDR3-1600 kit with 9-9-9-24 and 1.5V. Unfortunately, the XMS3 8GB singles have looser timings and/or higher voltages.

Finally, the Vengeance modules have heat-spreaders that are too tall, given the fact that heatspreaders may be unnecessary anyway. And I also confirm that you can fit G.SKILL Ripjaws (various) beneath an NH-D14 cooler, although it's a bit of a squeeze if you're looking to replace a module with the D14 in place. (But I did it, nevertheless).

The prices on the 2x8GB Ripjaws (various) kits seem to be coming down.

@BonzaiDuck 2x8GB Ripjaws (various) i check price,its is 186$ in my country :/

anyway i can buy this one if its work with p8z68-v le and i7 2600k,

http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Hype...ywords=KINGSTON+HyperX+Fury+Blue+16GB+(2x8GB)

or should i buy just single 8gb corsair vengeance cl9, and upgrade later (buying 1 more)

I'm not feeling irritable today, but only tired. So I went just this far to get a better idea about the Kingston kit. I visited the ASUS page for the P8Z68-V Pro motherboard and looked at QVL listings.

There are a lot of Kingston models and kits that are verified compatible with the ASUS Z68 boards. I'll leave it to you to investigate more thoroughly, but it would be a pretty good bet that the kit you linked would work fine. In fact, more than a "good bet," since their own description touts them for gaming with either Intel or AMD, and I think I saw "socket 1155" somewhere.

The latencies or timings for that kit are "so-so" with CAS 10, but -- look at it another way -- you could also run those at 1600Mhz and tighten the timings and CAS=9. In fact, I had 4x4GB G.SKILL 1600's with timings 9-9-9-24, and they had to run at 10-10-10 . . @ 1866 -- which was great.

You might be very happy with that kit. I've just never bought or used Kingston RAM, so my knowledge is limited about "quality control," "customer support," etc. But they've BEEN in the MEMORY BUSINESS for a LONG, LONG TIME.

Don't expect that 1.65mV Ram a full speed (2400Mhz) where as ALL Intel modern predecessor MCP's MAX-Out at 1.5mV to be Sable - In other words can't say that Ram will be stable down-clocking from 1.65 to below 1.5 where as 1.35 is preferable.

Better off looking for a low voltage Sticks @ 1666 Mhz.

I personally run an ASUS P8Z68-V Pro GEN3_MB for the last 3 years with an i7 2700K running at 4.8Ghz 24/7 with 4 sticks 4Gb of Samsung MV-3V4G3D-US_DDR3 @ 1866hz 9-9-9-9 24 1T @ 1.34Mv.

Good luck finding the 4Gb of Samsung MV-3V4G3D-US_DDR3 sticks and expect to pay for them.

Gotta love the ASUS P8Z68 and the Intel Sandy Bridge processor with Samsung MV-3V4G3D-US_DDR3 - She's a Sweet Heart Combination especially under water in a Fractal Midi R2 case with CF 290X's.

Some what power hungry but enthusiasts don't give a shit.

The OP did specify the "BEST" Ram for an ASUS P8Z68 ;o)

One thing you don't have to worry about is matched sticks with the 4GB Samsung MV-3V4G3D-US_DDR3 ram - They are all matched either in Dual, Triple or Quad channel.

But they only come in 4 GB sticks - How many Dims do you have?
