The system in my sig, but I just moved to a new house and ISP's changed so the link & pics is down.

AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 S939 @ 3.0 Ghz
Asus A8N-SLI nForce4 SLI Deluxe mainboard
1 GB Corsair 3200 XL @ 2-2-2-5-1T
Coolermaster ATC-111 aluminum mid tower
Enermax 465w PSU 3.3/5/12v @ 36 amp
Koolance Exos Al external liquid cooling system
Koolance CPU-300-H06 CPU block
2 x Raptor WD740GD 148GB SATA RAID0
Sony DRU710A dual layer DVD±RW
Dual SLI PCIe eVga GeForce 6800 Ultra 256MB @ 425/1100
Sony F500R 21" FD Trinitron .22mm AGP 2048x1536
Samsung 213T 21.3" LCD 1600x1200
Klipsch 2.1 speaker system
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS
Logitech MX cordless keyboard
Logitech MX700 cordless optical mouse

Breaking 11,000+ in 3DMark'05, hope to water cool the video cards with Innovatek blocks and try some overclocking as soon as they come out with a PCI Express version (the board layout is slightly different from the AGP version and components physically interfere with the current blocks)

CPU is a modest overclock on water @ 41C 1.5125v, no vapor or anything fancy. Primary display is the best CRT that will ever be made used for gaming, LCD used primarily when coding/debugging.

Speakers going to Klipsch 5.1 Ultra as soon as I get the den set up with some shelves on the opposite wall and can conceal the wiring, I haven't used my PC much since moving; no internet is a drag...

Lol I have the same reciever only hooked up to Def Tech BP 3000TLs , BPVX/Ps and a CLR-3000, though it's in a seperate room from my PC. Thinking about adding a pair of 15" velodyne HGSII servo subs when I feel the need to knock down walls

Looking at getting a Sony Qualia 006 LCOS screen to go with it as soon as the credit settles down from the new house...

For the $10k the LCoS would cost you, you could get a High quality Barco/Christi with high resolution, faster response and bigger screen. But the projector would need it's own room. And then there's the lamps.

Those Velodynes couldn't even touch what I could build for that price. Last year my buddy and I ripped apart an old Sunfire, ya know the one with the super-efficient 2400w amp, and made a LAB12 Isobarik setup with 4 pairs. 122db(A) 20hz at 12ft.

I vote for exdeath for having the most disposable income and a very nice A/V system. The Qualia is really nice. Waiting to see some reviews of that beast.

MSI NEO2 Platinum
Kingston 1GB (2x512MB) PC3500
EVGA 6800GT
1 x 74GB WD Raptor
1 x Hitachi SATA 80GB
Lite-on 16X DVD-ROM
Thermaltake Dream Tower Tsunami
Aspire 520W PSU

My internet, pr0n, DVD, video editing system:

P4 3.0Ghz Northwood
1GB Corsair PC3200
Abit IC7 mobo
NEC3500 DVD Burner
Lite-on DVD-ROM
1x200GB
3x100GB

Yeah I've heard of the Sunfire subs, those are nice.

I can get a Sony G90 for under $10k that would prob give me the best image possible, the biggest concern is gaming: ie: burn in. Pretty much eliminates CRT and plasma, so LCD and DLP where the only real answers until I heard about LCOS/SXRD. Being that we are both big gamers, I've had my eye on LCOS for a while. I was almost ready to 'accept' gaming on the 70XBR950 LCD set until I heard news of the Sony SXRD unit. Granted the XBR950 is the best RPTV I have seen to date, it can be better.

I've yet to see a Qualia 006 in person, and for that price, I will probably test ever damn console and DVD I have on it!

Also, just out of curiosity, how does that Realizm 800 do in gaming? Any 3dmark scores?
I've always knwon that workstation cards never perform as well in games (duh) but given the cost of a pair of 6800 Ultra PCIe cards right now (probably about the same as the Realizm 800) I'm curious how they compare in gaming?

I don't have it now, I just have some dinky $50 19" CRT ;P

I had a Sony 32" XBR a few years ago that I sold in preparation to upgrade just before I landed 'between jobs' and ended up with nothing, and now with LCOS around the corner it's been a perpetual waiting game.

It sucks ass for games. Serious monkey ASS.
The other card is reall nice though.

LOL the R800 is not for games!

This is like buying a dumptruck to take to the dragstrip. Of course that would be funny.

Cheers!

I still don't see what the difference is... both cards are doing the exact same thing.

I can see the workstation cards offering higher precision, etc. but I can't see how the numbers don't translate to game performance. 3D is 3D after all ... both types of cards essentially do the same thing and with the line between real time interactive 3D and 3D cinematic offline rendering is rapidly disappearing...

The rig can be sweet, but how is it presented? it needs to be in a nice case, with clean wiring.

Yes, clean and classy, no rice please.

Why do people spend $100s on flashing lights and rotating, blinking, dancing, plastic stuff to put in their PC's with 1 GHz cpus? I can't stand all these stupid cases that look like optimus prime or akuma. There are too many, and too few vendors making nice cases (cooler master, lian li, to name a few) and even Coolermaster has canned some of their best cases ever and has started experimenting with curvy stuff with tatoos and blue windows........

(same question goes for cars too)

I've noticed that the nicer something is, the higher performance it is, the less frilly and blingy it's external appearances and the more it costs.

For example a $50 Aiwa boom box with 1000 LEDs on it or a Denon AVR. An '03 Mustang with spoilers, skirt kits, fart pipes and altezzas, vs the clean straight lines of the much more expensive and powerful '03 Cobra.

etc.

LOL the ratio of P4 to AMD owners is pretty sad....I'll add one to the P4s.

SEE SIG

thats about it, I do some gaming and a LOT OF multitasking. CD burning, Ripping, Watching movies i picked P4 because all ive used is intel and it suited my needs better than the A64.
Why do you guys make it sound like P4 can't do gaming worth crap? it matches nicely with my 6800GT, its a known fact that A64 edges out in gaming, but P4 is not super far behind. To me, personally it plays anything i throw at it.

Personally I dislike Intel because they think I am a sheep that will buy anything with their name on it and their marketing spin.

As for their product, I was close to buying a P4C800-E with a 3.2 GHz Northwood before the Hammer was out as I was disappointed that AMD was chasing the 'server' market with 64 bit chips and leaving desktop users behind. Skepticism and apprehension were met with holy s*** when it finally did come out, and I've had an AMD system ever since.

I will have an Intel system when they make better chips again.

Though as cheap as they are, 3.2 GHz P4 seems to be the sweet spot if I ever need a handful of cheap PCs to stand in at a LAN party
