Best router and switch?

Hi all,

What's the best router and switch out there right now for the price? Right now I've been looking at the Linksys 4 port router and 5 port switch, would this make a good combo? If not what, would? Thanks in advance.

Just out of curiosity, could you use one of the 8 porters out there? You're going to lose 2 ports to uplinks in that situation, for a total of 7 ports. I would think you'd be better off with a bigger router unless you need a switch along with the router.

It all a matter of Simple Arithmetic.

You can find a Generic 8 Port Switch for $35.

This Week Best Buy D-Link DI-604 Cable/DSL Router $39.99 - $10 rebate = $29.99

There are few other Brand name Routers this week for $5 to $10 more.

I.e. You can have a Router and 10 available ports for $60-$80.

The Linksys 8 port Router (BEFSR81 ETHERFAST) is currently sold for $80-$90.

Therefore if 8 ports or less are needed I would go with the Linksys.

More then 8 ports separate components as above are a better deal.

The Linksys is the best because if you use the default theme of WinXP, the Screen Colors matches the Router. All nice Blue.
