Best setup for Pagefile in XP Home

Hi, without having to calculate the pagefile size what would you set it to be with the following, Also I'll be creating a pagefile on my slave drive all to increase proformance.

RAM 768MB

Master drive: WD 120GB, 7200, 8MB, ATA100 (79GB FREE)

Slave drive: WD 40GB, 7200, STD MB, ATA100 (30GB FREE)

On a newer motherboard

You have 768M memory, I wouldn't waste time worrying about the pagefile since you won't be using it much.

Hi.
I have 768mb of ram as well, and i set my min/max page file size to 1536mb on its own partition.
Why? I allways set my page file to double of what my main ram is. Why? Just do. I think there was a reason for it, but my system hasnt been reinstalled for 3 years so ive forgotten. lol.

actually I've tried different configurations and systems
and have never gotten the pagefile over 1.2gb

also I have a gig of ram and have had 1.5gb on the system before and have still max out my pagefile
but I do video editing and play around with creating game maps as well.

Thank you, What I've done is go with what XP set on my master Drive min 768, max 1500 somthing, and on my slave drive I set it to min 300, max 768, I understand that XP will use the pagefile on the non boot drive first. Is this true?

Once one has more than 512 MB ram in the system one no longer needs to follow that stupid 1.5 rule for the page file that microsoft uses.

With 3/4 gig of ram you can set your page file to 256-512.

Do not turn it off. If you do some stuff won't work. Go figure. I have a gig of ram and get prompts about virtual memory. Some people with more than a gig of ram say the set their pagefile to 20 MB just so windows doesn't prompt them about virtual memory.
