Blade for me (Mach 3)

Couldn't really say but I know whats not.. Stupid electric razor.

I have an electric. It's does ok. I prefer my Mach 3, but the electric is handy when I want a quick shave before going out but don't want to smell like shaving cream.

Sometimes, if I want to get a really really good shave, I use a very light delapitory for around 10 minutes. It doesn't wipe off, but it does weaken the bonds of the hair. I then wash shave and it comes off like butter.

Poll options seem off. By blade you mean a cartridge razor? All hand razors are blades in a way.

Straight edge I assume is the old school, well straight edge blades. But what about the double edge safety razors?

I'm a DE user here. I voted straight edge, but am to much of a pussy to use one yet. Never had much luck with electrics. Cartridges are kinda mediocre as far as teh quality of shave...

I was actually going to start a shaving thread here in a day or two. I keep putting it off.
I dont mind a straight razor if I can handle it, but it requires time and finesse.
A regular bic stic is good enough most days, IF I use a good cream.
Mother got me some fancy Aveda shaving cream and I have to admit it works nicely. Skin is all moist and smooth afterward.

OP: Please add a new poll with choices for lube.

I used electric my whole life until a year ago when I switched to Mach3/Fusion and will never go back. I'm terrified of a straight razor or safety razor though.

straight razor is by far the best shave. I use an electric because I have some moles in places that will bleed like mad if I use a blade. I want to use a blade again so I will get that mole removed.

I have the same problem. My beard is way too tough and thick, (doctor says its hormonal) but my skin cant take that much abuse.

And a Mach 3 razor. When not using the razor keep it in alcohol.

Schick Ultra (or whatever). Tried a Mach 3 last summer and found it was a bit better, but nowhere near the difference in price.

Electric for the convenience. It take some doing and some aftershave, but I can get it smooth.

I personally hate blades. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I always get a shitload of irritation when using one (with warm water) for what turns out to be the rough equivalent of my electric.

Now for the closest shave, straight shave w/shaving cream all the way. Just takes too much time for regular use given my schedule.
