Band of Brothers was great, except the ending totally sucked in terms of historical accuracy. They didn't even mention mecha-Hitler.

I've just finished watching seasons 1 and 2 of Chuck. Brilliant show, but I'm not sure if its HBO or some other network.

I also like True Blood.

Dexter is better than all of them though, imo. I think the only show I like better than dexter is 'breaking bad', but it's on AMC. And it's awesome.

I tried watching The Wire. Season 1 was ok, season 2 was shit and I couldn't make it past half way.

I'd say Curb or Band of Brothers. I haven't seen very many of the other series though.

Season 2 of the Wire doesn't really fit the rest of the series. Seasons 3 & 4 were outstanding, however. I really liked season 5, people here tend to bitch about it, though.

I tried watching The Wire. Season 1 was ok, season 2 was shit and I couldn't make it past half way.

Season 2 is the make-or-break point as far as whether people like it / get it, IMO. That's when you have to be on board with the fact that the show is actually about the institutions and workings of a city, and not just about some cops going after some drug dealers.

Got Brotherhood as well sucked -couldnt make it to second episode boring as fuck.
Generation Kill got here too and that really sucked - Shaky cam + pretty boys + not enough killing annoyed me.

Got wire today watched first 3 episodes. Great show - a little gritty for my taste as in everyone is a scumbag cops, lawyers, criminals, judge, etc... but other than that fantastic storyline. I like the politics - reminds me why I quit working.

That's the part I enjoyed most about the show... everyone is dirty in some way, and there really are not any good guys.

True Blood was the worst thing on HBO/SHO I've ever seen. It was actually worse than Carivale or John from Cincinatti

When I had HBO/SHO about a year ago I loved Dexter, True Blood was pretty good too but only saw about 5 episodes before I dropped the movie channels.

When you start watching Deadwood, if you have any trouble following the dialog, try turning on the captions. Maybe you need it maybe you don't, but the genius behind the show is the dialog. Even the characters you won't like say some of the most memorable things.
