Their is absolutely now way this case could cost more than a thousand. Anything above $300 is pushing it. Not to mentio I want wheels for a case like this. Now we are talking a LAN party

I found 2 "official" responzez in Zalman'z forumz regarding the TNN500A:

#1:
Thank you for your question.

The TNN500A will be on Korean and Japanes market first by September 2003. Launching time of the TNN500A to other conturys will be posted, when all seted, by our home page.

> No fans ANYWHERE in the case (except for PSU), so it's whisper-quiet !!
--- There is no fan in TNN(Totally No Noise)500A, PSU also! so it's a TNN. The HDD noise also can not go out because 5mm~7mm thicness AL case prevent the HDD noise.

#2:
Thank you very much for your fervent interest in Zalman's upcoming product.

Q: Will it be available for AMD as well?
A: Currently, Intel socket478 and AMD socket754 are supported. We are not planning to support older platforms at this moment.

Q: Will it be possible to purchase only the case with the cooling solutions?
A: TNN500A package consisits of a case, a 300W (or 400W) No Fan PSU, cooling solutions and some accessories. PC components, such as motherboard, CPU, memory, etc., are not included.

Q: I understand it might be hard to transfer the CPU heat with heatpipes due to the many motherboard designs, so how flexible is it?
A: Not all motherboards having compatible platforms fit the TNN. About 95% among the latest motherboards are suitable. We'll publish the "Recommended motherboard list for TNN500A".

Q: More than 300w PSUs available? If not, is it possible to use a PSU not made by Zalman?
A: TNN 500A which is being introduced on the web has the 300W No Fan PSU made by Zalman. Higher capacity model, 400W, is being developed and will be available in near future.

Regards,
Jinkook Kim/ZALMAN

maybe you could have LAN races, put a case on wheels and let all the fans push them around the room

bullsh*t. how would you create a silent case easier then that? even water cooling has the sound of the pump and fans to cool the radiator. this case seems to have only the harddrive as a noise maker, i'd pay over 200 dollars for that.

Well my friend if you get low enough RPM fans then you can barely hear your computer at all, my friend has very low RPM fans for ALL his components and you can barely hear a whisper. Not to mention that all this cost around £15 ($25). But hey, if people want to pay $200-$300 for something only marginally quieter than a whisper who am I to criticise? Personally, for 200-300 dollars i'd be buying some cooling along the lines of Prometia or the like, and having some REAL fun. If I wanted a quiet case I wouldnt pay more than 50 dollars in total, but then again i've got more sense then money...

Uhh... watts per second? Is that their wording, or yours? Someone needs to retake their science courses, methinks

I don't know why you guys think its so ugly.

I suppose if you are the type that likes windows and lights and glow in the dark neon crap, then it would seem ugly to you.

It's just a black box.

Watts being a power measurement, they already contain the "per second." A watt is 1 joule per second.

i have 3 computers with fanspeed controllers and very low rpm fans. they still make noise no matter what. if you put filters on them, you have to turn them up higher to make up for the lost air flow. if you want more cooling, you have to turn em up again when its hot. with a fanless system,y ou wouldn't have to worry about dust to begin with, rather nice. dead silence and low hum is a big difference.

I suppose it could be enclosed in something that looks nicer. And I'll bet that this won't be the last of its kind.

So then it would be joules per second squared.
