I am a bourbon guy, so, in order, of the ones I've tried (I have been meaning to try the Van Winkle whiskys, especially Special Reserve, but haven't had them):

1) AH Hirsch
2) Wild Turkey Rare Breed
3) Woodford Reserve

5) Knob Creek
6) Maker's Mark
7) Booker's
8) Wild Turkey 101

Sure ya can - Woodford Reserve is similar in price and superior IMO. Maker's is pretty good stuff, though.
