I've only used half.com and amazon, but they're getting more expensive by the semester it seems (sometimes more expensive than what my campus bookstore sells them for). Anyone have any ideas for other reputable sites for buying used textbooks?
I'm in Canada, and I've used abebooks.com last year, and am using it again for my books this year. They have sellers selling used, new, and softcover international books for a fraction of the price.
Abebooks.com is what I use as a benchmark (followed by Amazon). I recently found a $180 book for $3 there. I didn't trust it though, so I went with the $20 listing. So far I've spent about $70 for an equivalent of $300 at a retail bookstore!
I use addall as well and I usually end up buying international editions from Abebooks.com. And yes I see a lot that are in the range of $3-$6 as well- they usually come overseas from India or another place and the high shipping costs usually result in the final price being similar to the ones that are sold in the US. I just get the ones that are shipped from inside the US.
I tried using campusi.com, as it seems to be similar to addall and searches more stores, but many of the stores ended up not having them in stock.
