I was close to getting a new 2006 acura TSX for 28k OTD, but i've decided to explore the slightly used car route in hopes of getting more car for my money. I'm placing my price cap at 28k firm, and i'd like a fairly new used car, maybe 1-3 years old. One such car that caught my attention is a 2005 subaru Legacy GT (250hp turbo) with 8k miles on it. It was used as a loaner for the local subaru dealer and they're asking 21k for it. They also have other 2005 demo models, one of which is going for 25k (but i can get that price down im sure). I don't know much about subaru reliability, but this seems like a good deal.

Any other recommendations for a slightly used car?

I think an acura TL would go for around that much used, run a search on their site.

I've already looked into used TL's, the newer generation (2004+) are expensive and the older generation look ugly imo

I'm going to add a vote for the 2005 Subaru Legacy GT. For the money, it's about as good as you're going to get.

loaners are the worst cause people treat them like crap and drive them like crap.

Infinities G35 are Nice

want a rocket? I drove a mazdaspeed6 it was cheaper than that... but it does not have the snob factor of others. But the subaru sounds nice too.

I'd rather stay away from MErcedes and BMW, i'd prefer to get a high-reliability brand.

I agree, acura made some pretty bad looking cars, only the modern models are nice.

If you can afford 28k on a car, why not get something for 15-18k and save the rest or spend on better toys. Overspending on cars is such a waste of money.

although new merc's aren't exactly known for their reliability... i think this is sharp

compared to the M3, i think it's a bargain

As much as I hate C-class AMG comparisons to the M3, for $15k he's right.

buy it now price is 28k... doubt it will sell for much under that

even for BIN, a comparable M3 will be well above $30k

a little about your budget, but...
