I haven't kept a close eye on the socket 1366 Core i7 market but I'm thinking about a new rig based on the new Core i7 960 coming out soon and was looking for some advice on the best 1366 MB's out there.

How about the top 3 overall. Standard size applies, no micro ATX boards for me

ASUS?
EVGA?
Others?

Thanks in advance ~

Which P6T do you think is worth P6T Deluxe v2, P6TD Deluxe or Rampage II Extreme?

I'm getting the feeling like the Asrock Xtreme 58 is the UD3R P45 of the 1366 era. Great board for 169$ Overclocks like most other boards from what i've been seeing.

If Asrock x58 Extreme for $169 OC's like a charm why they are buying $300
boards?

say what?

Why $160 board is so cheap compared to $300 ?

I'm not sure i'm understanding your English correctly

Why was my Maximus II Formula board 279$ when I bought it and NOT as good a board as my Gigabyte UD3R P45 board that cost 114$

Gigabyte UD3R @ 114$ > Asus Maximus II Formula @ 279$ (comparing in Quadcore Overclocking)

The higher end boards are more geared for l2n overclocking, any x58 can do the standard 4.4ghz+ overclocking with ease, however they may cold bug under l2n and have issues posting

The EVGA SLi Classified and the Asus Rampage II aren't standard ATX form, 12x10.6 inch both are 1 inch over size. Good for a big tower

Intel DX58SO's are over priced for the memory and expansion cards they can't fit

Gigabyte GA-EX58 Extreme is probably the best without going stupid on price

Do you mean Gigabyte UD5 motherboard ?

I know ASUS Rampage II Extreme is oversized but for the price ~~$300 i'm trying to buy
better one, which MOB is the winner Gigabyte GA-EX58 or ASUS Rampage II Extreme and why? Price is just $30 different.

I was very happy with my Gigabyte X58 UD3R. Very solid board, awesome overclocker (did Base Clk of 215), and it's only $173 AR right now. The only downside to it is it only has 4 memory slots. Still works great in triple channel but it somewhat limits you if you want to go crazy with how much ram you have.

I'm also very happy with the EVGA 3X SLI (E758). Very easy to oc, 3 PCI-E slots, good cooling, lifetime warranty, cmos reset button (better than the pin method), and lots of extras. Only downside is that it is $260 AR right now.

Whicj one is better : Gigabyte UD5 or EVGA E758-A1 and why ?
I know EVGA supports MOB by lifetime warranty but what about board itself? Doesn't looks
pretty. how it works ? Any known issues ?

GA-EX58 Extreme, better cooling options for the chipset than a UD5 i think. That is more the equivalent to the Asus Ramage II extreme. I would say invest in that board rather than the UD5 on your new system just for the fact that X58's run warmer than you think

In some cases yes. You won't be guaranteed a higher Bclk with a higher end board, sometimes they clock worse, sometimes they clock better. The UD3R in my experience has taken evrything I've thrown at it and seeing as the circuitry and BIOS is exactly the same as the higher end boards I would suggest a UD3R and put the saved money into something else.

Thanks.
How do you like your P6T Deluxe v2 Chooch ? Lot of complains are about memory issues but board itself looks better(sexy) than EVGA, GiG, and anothers.

I didn't think my post was terribly funny, but whatever floats your boat.

It's alright, i've mentioned i haven't tried to clock it much but i'm looking for a suitable CPU cooler atm. It's got a few cool things like a built in SSD with a simple asus operating system to check emails and stuff with a 5 second boot time - I don't use it because i doesn't recognize my wifi card. The chipset heat sink has a lit asus logo which does look sexy and there's cmos reset and MB power push buttons.
Memory issues with mine are the XMP feature only recognizes 6 of the 12 GB and blue screens anyway with 6 GB installed but i'd say the board would be sweeter with more expensive ram ie corsair dominator...it seems very stable at 1600mhz but has issues at 1866 - 2000 mhz

Others are recommending Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 over P6T Deluxe v2, by myself i like more SEXY ASUS Rampage II Extreme(ASUS forum also recommends RII Extreme over P6T Deluxe).

Doesnt the P6T have more cooling space for the Video card compared to the Gigabyte one? (If using 2 of them )

I actually like MSI boards for i7. good price and features. I also looked at asus before going with MSI which had a lot of the features of the more expensive Asus boards and some features like OC Genie, the quick launching OS, and seemingly better chipset cooling at an equivalent price to the cheaper Asus boards.
