i just purchased the HP smartmedia server ex485 and per the reviews, its performance is significantly better on a gigabit connection. Currently i have my house network setup with buffalo HP g wireless. I want to stream video and greatly improve my backup speed. it would not be easy to hardwire the computers so im looking at options to improve my network performance. things im considering (although im certainly open to other suggestions) are:
1. switching to a pre n gigabit router such as the buffalo Nfiniti? Wireless-N High Power Router & Access Point WZR-HP-G300NH or the dlink DIR-655 Xtreme N Gigabit Router. my laptops and desktops currently have g cards in them and i have some things such as the wii, the ds, and the ipod touch which dont have easy options to go to pren.
2. buying a gigaswitch such as

and connecting it to my current router.
3. purchasing one of the 200 powerline router systems and augmenting it with either my current router or a new pren
id be curious to have suggestions on what to do
