That's nothing dude, I remember back in the day Sound Blaster 16 ISA's being $150 and the "high end" AWE cards over $200. For the best gaming experience, $90 is cheap. If you spend about the same for a video card, might as well match it with a cheaper sound card. The ZS is not the only solution though. If you can find an Audigy 2 OEM, it should be about $60 and it'd be difficult to hear the difference from a ZS. You could also go a bit retro and use an Audigy LS, a.k.a., the original Audigy. It has worse sound quality, but the gaming support is still there with a pricetag of about $40.Originally posted by: Crazyfool
Looked at the Audigy2 ZS over at Newegg. $88 was the lowest priced one! For a soundcard. That is just too much for a soundcard.
Next thing I know you guys will be trying to talk me into buying $90 keyboards. LOL
FYI keyboards also used to be very expensive but were built like a rock with the pre-silicon switches we have in cheapass keyboards these days.
