Best Sound chipset, NOT creative labs?

IS there a sound card i can get for gaming thats ALMOST as good as Audigy 2 zs gamer?
or one that someone could reccomend under 100 bucks?

Why not get an X-Fi Extrememusic? It's a bit over your budget of $100, but it's a great card.

thats good question. I will tell you that there are other cards on the market. But for the most part unless you are willing to spend several hundred dollars on a card that is more than just for gaming your probably better of going craetive.

The X-Fi can be bought very close to your 100 dollar budget just wait for a great deal, heck its 99.99 at frys now if you wann do a 30 rebate.

OEM Creative Audigy's always sell less then $100 (often well-less then that).

So why would you go with anything else?

The resampling issue is a sore point for audiophiles. Casual listeners with MM speakers have nothing to worry about with Audigy's.

Auzentech's seem to be one of the newer ones getting some interest.
