Best sub-$200 Athlon 64

I am building a system around a 6600GT card. What is the best Athlon 64 chip for $200 or less? I'm mainly interested in best bang-for-buck. I may OC it, too, so opinions considering both factors will be mucho appreciated.

Just get the fastest 939Socket AMD 64 for 200 bucks, and no question asked.

NO!!!! Why by the quickest (most expensive) which is the 3500+ when you can buy a 3000+ or 3200+ and OC to just as high as a 3500+ would OC too.

Thats not actually true anymore, 3000's dont oc that "well" anymore. But itf your biulding around a 6600gt then I would still get a 3000, and pocket the remainder as youre going to be limmited by the 6600 anyway.

Benrico, I believe that only applies to some of the recent Winchesters. Venice should hit much higher speeds reliably when OCed.

I wouldn't be suprised if a lot of the recent winchester "flops were because of inept or non-seasoned overclockers. Granted, even the ones that do legitamately do "poor" still reach 2.0-2.2, which certainly isn't bad performance.

I sold my good Winnie 3000+ to my brother, and bought a 3200+ for the 10X multiplier, but I got it before the news about the crappy CBBID's coming out. Suffice it to say I am getting a Venice as soon as they come out.

My 3200+ won't even run at 2250MHz stable! My 3000+ I sold to my bro could do 2.6 stable easily.

If you're looking for the best CPU for $200 I recommend an OEM Venice 3200+. They should be out this week, possibly as early as monday for some retailers.
