Best tasting diet soda

I am not a diet drinker, but i am really diggin this Coke with lime!

i cant believe only one person said Diet Cherry Coke! That stuff has to be the best diet soda.

After that comes diet dr. pepper or diet barqs. Then diet mountain dew and diet code red tie. Then diet pepsi.

but Diet Cherry Coke is the #1

I just tried some Safeway Select Diet Cola, and it's pretty damn good, I was surprised. Especially since I can get it for .25 cents a can.

Echoing sentiment. Fake sugar and I do not necessarily agree with each other. I guess the best way for me to describe the taste of saccarin (to me) is like well-used gym socks after a summer basketball game. I use Tom's of Maine toothpaste because it is saccarin free.

"Fake" soda works in a pinch though. Seltzer water with flavoring such as Sassafras tea or some Celestial Seasoning's tea can get you past the need for "fizz" in your live without sugar. Mostly living on ice cold, decaf Green Tea myself.

Most diet sodas don't use saccharin. Saccharin != Aspartame.

That being said, Hansen's Diet Sodas and Diet Rite, both of which use Splenda, are good.

Aspartame, forgot about that one. That is the source of wicked headaches. Like I said, fake sugar, bad.

I did try Diet Rite last week, as Splenda only taste like washed gym socks. It was not so hot. Just one messed up taster when it comes to artifical sweetners (yes, I know Splenda is made from sugar.)

I am still waiting for left-handed fructose.

Also - not a soda - but I like Snapple's Diet drinks. E.g. - Diet Peach Iced Tea - crispy flavor.

Excited about tagalose, eh?

I'm a diabetic, so I think I'm more accustomed to the tatse of diet drinks; I like splenda, but don't really care much for aspartame. Still, most of the time I like aspartame alternatives better than the sugary drinks they're based on.

All I know is that with diet Coke all I could taste was the fizz of the soda. I could not taste the sweetness (I know that is what diet is all about). But the fizz gave it that regular Coke sense.
