Best to sell entire computer or the parts?

Honestly have no clue what forum to put this under so.... here it is. Hopefully it'll end up in correct spot.

I don't meet the minimum requirements yet but I wanted to ask a FS/T related question. (Trying to prepare ahead.)

I had an intention to build a 7 GPU rig. Well 1.7 years later it's almost ready to run as intended after replacing almost all the components. I have components and more components. I started selling some on eBay but was thinking about other market places.

Craigslist wasn't so successful for me so I Googled and posting to forums came up. So I'm in the process here of meeting the requirements. But this process has led me to the question of whether or not I should build a computer to sell. And was wondering the thoughts people had on this matter.

Component List:
  • AsRock Z87 Fata1ity Killer LGA 1150
  • FSP Aurum Pro 850W Gold+ (2)
  • HIS 7950 IceQ
  • HIS 7970 IceQ X2 w/ water blocks (2)
  • ASUS 7970 Direct CU II
  • XFX 7950 DD (2)
  • Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3-1333 2x2GB

For the computer... was going to use my memory, dual HIS 7970s and PSU. Grab some case that looked half way decent that could hold a res and pump, and was thinking an i5-4440...

Was thinking computer: craigslist. Components: here / eBay.

Opinions?

People who might look into buying a custom built desktop are too picky, I'd advise to part it out. Have you heard of /r/hardwareswap?

You might be left with a few parts, but that's better than being left with the whole rig. How did mining go?

I don't see how eBay would work... it's flooded with components and it's pretty difficult to move anything in a short amount of time unless it's fairly unique. Go to where the enthusiasts go... here, and the few other forums.

I've never had much luck with Craig's, either...

If I had success from the beginning I think I would've broken even. Parted out my computer and took that as the profits. But I was plagued by issues at every step... literally every step. Took a few months to get it running with 4. My job allows for 10 days of free time and 20 days of seclusion... well until I got laid off a few weeks back. So accomplishing simple things took forever.

All my coin balances are pretty worthless at this point. Or it'd take too much energy with my antiquated ASICs to make it worth it.

I decided no computer would defeat me. I had no problems putting together a normal computer and I would finish this one. So away went the milkcrate, in came the Enthoo Primo case, ASUS Z9PE-D8 WS mobo, RAM for the new mobo, CPUs for it too, etc. and I started to put it together but no watercooling connector was small enough for adjacent slots... in came a machine shop...

So right now I have a stack of 7 GPUs in a box, my remainder of my copmuter in another box, lots of boxes everywhere (just moved back from ND). Cleaning up a bit to make some space and will set this bad boy up and cross my fingers.

Afraid this would crack something in the UHaul, so it stayed separate. Pretty close to 30lbs.

Interestingly I had a guy google the model number of his card and my CL post was the number 1 result! But that's about the only sale I had...

eBay just stinks for a few reasons lol. Price, time, fees. Honestly don't care how long it takes to sell, fees certainly don't help.... and Amazon's are even worse. Ack.

Honestly, no. And these things have been boxed and ready to ship for... a year at this point I think. Not relishing opening up my custom cut boxes, removing layers upon layers of taped up bubble wrap to take a picture of the item with a handwritten piece of paper and then put everything back in.

If there are similar rules here I guess I have no choice.
