Best value External Cell Phoner Power Supply ?

Want one of these for when the cell dies while away on vacation, not near an outlet. External battery pack that recharges. Some are junk, but I don't want to pay $50, either. Got a link?

I have this one and love it. $20 They have a 6000 mAH one for more, but 4500 can charge my phone twice usually.

The nice thing about this model is that it has a 2.2A and 1.1A port for charging 1 device at full 2.2A or both ports at 1.1A. The downside is that I found it takes a long time to charge back the battery since it is 8000mAh.

I would recommend also getting heavy gauge USB cables for high charge speeds. Something that is 28 or 24 AWG that allows for full 2.2A charging. What I used for my road trip was:

Also, if you have a lot of USB devices (my trip had: 2 tablets, 2 cell phones, GPS, battery pack split between 2 people) I would recommend an USB base charging station. It can rapidly charge the devices from one socket and reduces the clutter.

It can be a big detail. If you drain the external battery, it may take more than 8hrs to charge back up to full.

Say you have a late night, the pack has been used a lot and is at 25% or so. The battery pack may not be fully charged when you weak up to leave again..

The external is only for rare emergency situations. Travel, etc.
Once you recharge, you can recharge your phone at the same time.
Odds are, once you're near a wall outlet again, you won't be needing the external pack for a weeks or months.

The 10k mah one only has 1 amp output.
The anker one above is also 1 amp. They made is slim and compromised on the charge speed because of that.

If you are OK with that then go ahead, but modern smartphones and tablets can charge at 1,900 mah or higher.

NOTE: What I say may or may not be true, I'm just typing what I heard.
Well it depends on the device. You want to make sure that you get one that has some form of voltage regulator (or whatever) so it feeds the correct number of volts to your phone. I know my phone can charge at a full 2A, iPads can charge at 2.1A (?) and stuff like that.

I have several battery packs. For travel use, I think 10000mAh is the best capacity choice. I will recommend the Anker's 2nd Gen Astro E3 and Aukey's PB-N28 for they have good quality at good price. I also recommend Lepow's Poki and Solove's Roco because they are ultra slim and portable, and very beautiful made.

I also have the Anker's usb charging station. Almost one year now, it still works great! I also recommend this for multiple devices charging.

I like the Tekkeon MP158. It lets you use replaceable AA batteries. It also allows you to recharge the batteries with a USB device when they run out.

The company that makes my cordless tools, milwaukee, also makes a "power pack" which attaches to the 18v batteries and provides a 12v jack and a 2 Ah USB port.

This was $20, and the best value for me, as I already have 7 batteries, ranging from 27 to 90 Wh.

This solution is bulky, and requires a separate charger for the batteries, but works great in my situation.

If I needed a smaller footprint and builtin charger, I would probably just get a cheap Duracell or energizer unit.
