I know Tom's has a done an extensive review but was
wondering if anyone had any comments on
(price + features) to performance ratio of the
266A boards. I'm buying a XP 1700 and looking for a board that
would idealy have onboard sound and possibly integrated LAN.

Any boards out there with theses two features and are
moderately priced around 80-120 bucks?

Thanks in advance to everyone

Just got my new mobo...Epox 8KHA+. Installation & setup is smooth. O/Cing is easy. So far no stability issues. Recommended.

My mobo is the rev 2.0. U= bios w/ the latest bios file 02/11/2001 installed.

Got onboard sound but no LAN.

8kha+ for the price + feature ratio... if money isn't an issue, i think KR7 is better mobo.

Not to flame you bro, but why dont you do a search and find out what everyone has to say. There is at least 4 new posts a week asking what the best kt266a board is. DO a search first, then if you cant find, then post.

What about the Shuttle AK35 KT266-A? ppl seem to be forgetting about that one. It has everything the Epox 8KHA+ has, plus more I believe. And it is only $76-$80!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I l like the Shuttle AK35 KT266-A, for the price you can't beat the performance. I have used three of these to build low cost gaming machine with no problems. It's nice to spend that extra 30-40 dollars on a better video card for someone.

I like the looks of the Soltek SL75DRV2 - Soltek is well known with a few people as being a super-reliable great running board.. I have definitely witnessed that, I'd even consider myslef buying the SL75DRV2, but my first choice for KT266A is the MSI K7T266Pro2, after owning a K7T Turbo LE which is a similar board with a KT133A chipset, I'd definitely get the KT266A board!!!

I've been using Epox 8KHA+ for few weeks and zero problems. I bought it because at the time very few 266A mobos were actually shipping and my first choice K7T266Pro2 died within a week so I exchanged it for the Epox board. I don't overclock but run the memory in turbo mode with a 512 stick of Mushking Special DDR. I'm very satisfied, there are no stability issues at all.

I like the Soyo Dragon+. It is more expensive ($146 from Newegg.com last I checked) but it has been rock solid. (Once I updated the BIOS.)

A7V266E. Plenty good and is putting the smack down on the KR7A. Cheaper too. Check out HardOCP, Bench House.

From the last review I read, the A7V266-E is looking to be definitely a top contender for "best KT266A" solution, Also the Soyo Dragon+ is a well known good board, but these 2 boards are the most expensive on the market right now! Shuttle, Soltek, MSI, and EpoX are all a LOT cheaper than those 2, and probably just about as good, if you want to save QUITE A BIT of money, get one of the other 4 mentioned, but if you simply want one of the best, and cost does not matter, the Dragon+ and the A7V266-E are suppose to be top notch.
